Amigos Burgers & Shakes-Holloway — Restaurant in London

Here is an honest review on this place 👇

I know this burger shop, Amigos, is highly-rated with more than 500 5-star reviews; but when I went to this place for the first time (20/11/2024), I found my experience to be a little bit different compared to what those reviewers said.

When I placed an order here (which consisted of only one item), I had to wait more than 10 minutes just to get it. The workers were busy focusing on other customers' orders, with some of them being lucky enough to get their order faster than I did! 👎🏽 I have visited different burger shops in London, with some of them preparing my order quicker.

I only got 1 thing from Amigos, which is their iconic buttermilk chicken burger 🐔🍔. When I tried it, I liked how the chicken tasted; not only was it warm, but it was flavoursome. The burger came with pickles and lettuce, along with some mayonnaise or garlic sauce that was spread on the buns. There were four types of flavours to choose from, with two of them being either the original or the BBQ flavour.

Although I love BBQ flavoured things, I chose to get the original flavour at the time of ordering the burger.

On the other hand, you can get milkshakes with many different flavours, such as chocolate, strawberry, OREO and Lotus Biscoff.

Overall, as a restaurant, Amigos is a little bit overrated; but they have awesome burgers that never disappoint. There are many different types of milkshakes to choose from, which is great. However, one thing that Amigos could work on is their service. The workers, who were in the kitchen, were taking too long preparing other people's orders. My order number was 678; and I believe that some of the people who ordered later got their food quicker than I did. Fortunately, I didn't get mine messed up. If I noticed that Amigos messed up my order at that time, I would've given them 2 or 3 stars! 👎🏽

I visited this place on the 20th of November 2024 at approx 2:20 in the afternoon.

(You may notice a few mistakes in this review. I was going to leave a review 2 or 3 weeks after visiting this place, but I was too lazy...

The food is great and so are the staff except for one female member of staff!

She was impatient with my Autistic Fiancé and when I asked her to be patient and she was trying to tell you what she wanted the woman was incredibly rude to me and now refuses to serve me EVERY time we go in to Amigos!

The male who is the Manager is incredibly lovely and welcomes us every time we go in!

When that particular female member of staff is working the atmosphere doesn’t feel as good as it does when she isn’t in!

When large groups come in and are extremely noisy the people that work here say NOTHING and it really affects my Autistic Fiancé as well as myself as I am also Autistic!

So Service and Atmosphere only get 4 Stars from me because of that ONE woman! If she tried to be nice I’d have given 5 stars but she is letting the fact I asked her to ‘let my Fiancé finish talking’ get to her which is affecting her work and she is letting that happen!

I know it is her ‘JOB’ to ask what we want BUT… When someone is talking LET them finish and do NOT be so rude about it!!!

We love this place and still come here as the other staff are lovely and friendly and they understand what Autism is! So why doesn’t she?!

This was a PAINFULLY BAD experience. First of all, the staff could not explain why the prices/ingredients on the menu didn't match the final price or the names or the products on their system. They suggested to have a "meal deal" and gave me four options of chips WITHOUT mentioning that different options were more expensive. Honestly felt as if they were ripping me off.

The cherry on top was the burger. I ordered a veggie burger and when it came everything in it was freezing cold (bun, cheese, tomato, sauce...) EXCEPT the actual patty, which was SO hot that I took one small bite and I started tearing up, burnt the roof of my mouth and am still not able to eat anything else without being in pain (it's been 3 days now).

I was in a rush so I didn't have the time to go complain and have another chat with the staff, so I just finished as much of my food as I could and left, but I didn't want to miss the chance of leaving a review for everyone to know how they do things in this place.

BTW the only reason they have so many good reviews is because they offer a free milkshake if you post a...
