Booked a table for 20 people on the 29th of November for a birthday party in the evening at the commercial road Efes and ordered a few of their biggest platters they have in the menu which comes with unlimited breads and salad. I had to constantly ask for them to refill the breads and ask them to clean the table so we can take pictures, they kept on saying they will do it and we waited 30mins or more and the place was not even busy at all, the service was poorly and the staffs were not a friendly bunch, waiters and waitresses were miserable not even a single smile on their faces nor a positive attitude towards their customers.

We was served by this one ignorant waitress that looks after the tables at the back as we had a big group we had the big table on the left hand side and she was our waitress for the evening, I think these employees are assigned to a table they look after. After finishing the food I asked them to clean the table many times and finally it was done. I then asked for the bill the waitress told me to go and pay at the front I then told the guy “opt me out from the service charge please” he replied saying no it is compulsory to pay the service charge I replied “excuse me no it is optional” he said okay and he opt me out from the service charge and then started speaking in his language to his colleague in-regards to the service charge and they both looked at me in a rude way so I ignored them and paid my bill and walked away, then the waitress came running after me asking me why I didn’t pay the service charge and that struck me and made me angry, how dare she ask me that when its optional and I also was not happy with the service.

I told her the same thing as the guy “no it is optional” she started saying no its compulsory you have to by now go to the front and pay – I didn’t want to argue with her because I came here with my family for a birthday party to have a good time and I told her show me that in writing, she got the menu and gave it to me and told me to read and kept on saying look at it clearly says it is compulsory to pay service charge, I then read what was on the menu and could not stop laughing the menu clearly states “GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE PEOPLE A 10% SERVICE CHARGE IS OPTIONAL” and there was 20 of us I then explained to her that she needs to look at her own menu before demanding something and then explained to her what optional means she replied “OPTIONAL MEANS COMPULSORY YOU HAVE TO PAY” and I told her to Google what optional means she replied back saying I know what it means it means you must pay.

After back and forth with this annoying waitress trying to educate her on what it states on her menu I then said “okay can I speak to your manager” she replied saying manager is not here I then said I will find the manager myself and she replied saying you don’t need to pay the service charge and walked away. I wanted to report her and the other guy but then was with my family so I did not want to make a big deal out of it so we all left. I believe they all are assigned to a table and by paying service charge the workers that are responsible for the tables get a commission hence why they were very hungry for money demanding you to pay the service charge to benefit them. I hope the manager reads this and does something about it because they will surely loose many customers, apart from the food being decent the service the attitude was horrendous they will give Efes a bad name as the other Efes I have been...

It's been many years where I have thought I have found a gem. But this is it. Up there with the best turkish food I have had in London. Sounds a big claim but I grew up in the Turkish community of green lanes north London. I used to get some sort of turskish food from the age of 12 at least 3 times a week. And as an adult eat turkish food at least once a week. There are a few dishes I feel I am an expert in Lamuchen Mixed grill platters Baklava Starter dips

Here I had 1,2,4. I have not had a better Lamuchen in London the bread was a combination of soft and crispy and the minced lamb was really well flavoured and a generous amount of lamb mince. You can see by the picture how good visually it looked

The sauces were great. The chilli sauce tasted home made and full of flavour, not just spice. Accompanied by the super fresh bread.

I must admit after the starters I was quite full. Which usually means I will not enjoy the mains as much. But I did the chicken shish on the mixed grill was perfectly charred and really tender whilst being cooked right through. The chicken wings the same. I would say the chicken wings were also the best I have tasted in London. Then there is the lamb kofta. I usually find that restaurants make this tough and grisly or with too much fat. But here it was perfect melted in the mouth and full of flavour. The platter also came with bulger rice and lamb and chicken doner. Very different to what I had tasted else where. Hard to put my finger on it, but it tasted full of quality.

I know I sound like a raving fan which is rare as I am a tough customer. Areas for improvement I would say is the garlic sauce and the aubagine dip both could be a bit richer

Overal I would say it is the best turkish restaurant in Central London and joint top in the whole of...

Went in the restaurant on the 22/02/2016, for a meal for my son's birthday. there not any greeting at all, just "can you sit here please". Then food was ok, nothing special, then came the worst part, where we found a hair in our meat platter, I called the runner who took my our order and she took the plate, then i walked to the counter to pay my bill, and the lady said she informed the manager and he will be coming to see me and go and sit down. Then i was approached by a guy who had long hair and seems as very proud of his job (good for him). and asked what was wrong, i would off expected the runner inform him that there was hair in my food, then he walked off, and about few min later the runner came with my bill, and she said that there were some discount has been applied. which there was. when i go to a restaurant there are sometimes things do go wrong and totally understand, but correcting what went wrong would be MANAGERS JOB, and this long hair chap was way too proud say sorry. Not at any point any of the staff said sorry, In fact after the first encounter with the manager we didn't even saw him let along he coming and apologise!!! Very Dissatisfied with the whole experience. To the manager, you have not given my any favours by giving me a discount, it not about the money, Just take that to your long...

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the restaurant. I had high hopes for the food. Lamb Chops: 2/5 They were the worst lamb chops I have ever had in my life, couldn’t even finish the dish. Mix Shish: 3/5 They were typical mix shish, not good but not bad. They are below the average considering that this is a Turkish grilled food restaurant. Yoghurt Adana: 5/5 This is the reason for me to give the restaurant a 3/5 instead of a 2/5. This dish was so good, that I would have believed it if they told me that it was from another restaurant nearby. I highly recommend this dish if you are giving the restaurant a shot. Service: 3/5 When a restaurant charges me a service charge without asking me first, they should provide good service. I was expecting them to at least hold the door for me when I was pushing my child’s push chair! There was no one at the restaurant, there were no excuses for them to offer the least amount of help. Further, a 10% service when there no tissues on any of your tables? To summarise: 2/5 when I am not considering the Adana. Sadly, I’m not thinking to get it another visit anytime soon

i had a company annual gathering here and it was amazing (if you go with more than six people you should ask for a reservation before hand) the bread was amazing and went so well with the sauce. the platters are filling and have a lot in them such as chops ,ribs ,kebabs ,chicken Tika and wings complimented with Turkish rice and a delicious couscous (don't worry the Tika is not dry at all) drinks you had a nice variety I had the normal mojito and a strawberry one the normal one (lime) is better and the strawberry one comes out a bit slushy dessert- If you still have room for desserts I recommend the ice cream and not the cheese cake as I was put off by the jelly/jello on the top layer as well as it was hard to cut choices of ice cream is flake or Ferrero rocher and they are nice but are made before hand so to have to wait a bit for it to be enjoyable hosts and staff- they are very hospitable and friendly they will try help you as much as they can
