Smokin Wok — Local services in London

I don’t normally write reviews, and if I ever do they’re usually positive however, this time I feel I have to say something not so positive. We found this place online and because their rating averages 4.5 stars we thought it would be good, we were also a bit limited in terms of options as we wanted Chinese Halal food and it was past 10pm. When we came we were told no card, cash only. None of us had cards with us to take out cash so we went to get emergency cash, a 5 minute walk away. When we come back, I see that someone is paying the guy at the till through Bank Transfer….if this is an option, why weren’t we also offered that option? Instead of being told Cash only? Or is this option only for certain people? I really wanted to say something, but I didn’t want to cause an issue, and I was still hoping the food would be good. We ordered dynamite wings and two smokin wok special, one with rice and one with noodles. We asked for chilli oil on top. The chilli oil was dry and salty, didn’t seem like chilli oil, more like just chilli flakes. The wings were drenched in sauce and I actually thought they tasted disgusting. We both only received TWO prawns in our dish….that was my last straw. Purposefully giving different treatments to customers, subpar meals and two flippin prawns? 😭 The dish is advertised with Beef, Chicken and King Prawns….but TWO???😭 Come on guys….my partner to split his second and last prawn in half cause I wanted more than 2 prawns. I had picked this place and paid for the food to treat my partner, but now I regret going here and I wish I’d picked a better, more authentic place :( like I said, I don’t like leaving bad reviews and I’m not a Karen….but I do think this service / quality warrants a review unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend and today my stomach hurts. portion size...

I recently ordered from Smokin wok and I can confidently everything was absolutely perfect.

Food Quality: 10/10 The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The portion sizes were generous, and every dish tasted authentic and homemade and full of flavor.

Service: 10/10 The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They took the time to ensure my order was correct and even offered recommendations when I couldn’t decide between dishes. The food was ready on time, and the delivery was quick and efficient. Everything was neatly packaged and still piping hot.

Value for Money: 10/10 The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. I felt like I got a fantastic deal, especially considering how delicious everything was.

Overall Experience: If you’re looking for a delicious Chinese food, Smokin Wok is the place to go they’ve got you covered. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon—this is now my go-to Chinese takeaway!
