Raavi Kebab House in Little India, called Drummond Street, London, a beloved London institution for more than three decades, holds a special place in my heart.
My family and friends have gathered at this gem countless times, and we've even savoured their delectable dishes through personal visits and online orders.
This restaurant is truly one of a kind, marked by exceptional service and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the menu, courteously provided by the General Manager, Mr. Faizaan Patel. What sets Raavi Kebab apart is the remarkable efficiency of their one-man team, led by the ever-attentive Mr. Faizaan Patel. From taking orders to serving food and presenting the check, he seamlessly orchestrates every aspect of the dining experience.
His passion and expertise shine through as he describes the nuances of Pakistani specialties, a true delight for those like me, who have known these dishes for almost four decades.
The most astonishing aspect of Raavi Kebab is that, over the years, the taste of their cuisine has remained as exceptional as ever. Their Pakistani Kebabs, cooked freshly on the open pit barbecue, are an absolute revelation, and the wide array of Pakistani dishes tantalize the palate like no other. It's a genuine treasure to find such sophisticated and authentic Pakistani cuisine in the heart of London, a place where people from all over the world can satisfy their cravings.
Despite the test of time, Raavi Kebab has retained fair and reasonable prices that hardly waver in the face of inflation. This commitment to affordability makes the experience even more enjoyable. But what truly sets Raavi Kebab apart is its unparalleled service.
The staff's dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience is second to none. I wholeheartedly wish the management, officers, and staff of Raavi Kebab continued progress on their journey to achieving the pinnacle of success in all their endeavors.
Raavi Kebab is not just a restaurant; it's a cherished institution that will forever hold a special place in my heart and the hearts of many others who have had the privilege of dining there. Ash-Cash...
Read moreOne word - TERRIBLE!
I had been to Raavi Kebab once and had thought that despite its shoddy interior and bad service the food was good.
I visited again with some British colleagues and boy was it a BAD mistake!
Not only was the food below standard, the servings terribly small for the price charged, the waiter and service was appalling! These are by far the worst people I have come across in London; they treat their diners like scum.
The waiter dropped an entire serving of Nihari on a friend and wasn’t even apologetic about it… (So much so they didn’t even wipe the floor they dropped the nihari on!)… When we asked the manager to pay for her dry cleaning they flatly refused saying it was not their problem… we had to stand there arguing and asking them to pay for nearly half an hour before the waiter paid 10 pounds (when clearly her dry cleaning would cost her much more)..
Obviously the owners have no interest in the reputation, upkeep and standard of this restaurant and are taking customers for a ride.
To give an example of their service - it took them over half an hour to bring us Naan bread! I am a Pakistani and have been to thousands of Pakistani restaurants and know enough that it takes less than 5 minutes to make naan bread. The food is TOO SPICY even for Pakistani standards – it’s almost like they are trying to cover up the taste of the dish in the spices. When a friend was dying of the spice and begging for an orange juice (she was sweating and on the verge of collapse) they took over 20 minutes to bring her orange juice!!
Do yourself a favour – stay away from this place. Life is too short – and London has WAY too many amazing curry places to waste your time at...
Read morePlaces like this restaurant (honestly, wouldn't even call it a restaurant as it's far from even looking or obtaining the atmosphere of one) makes me question why people work or run a business in the hospitality industry. After my first and last experience here, I wouldn't even rate this a place a single star, let alone a recommendation. Normally I wouldn't even give places like this a single glance and the reasons are obvious as to why. The man serving us, was extremely rude and made it obvious on numerous occasions, he was getting tired of taking our order and serving us. He kept on mumbling which prompted us to confirm our order as he was confusing the hell out of us and there's only so many times you could ask a person to repeat themselves. Then when we were adding extra sides after we recieved our food, he made it obvious like a moody teenager would when being told to do something they don't want to do. As for the food it was bland and oily. Lacked basic presentation and did not look appetizing at all. The cutlery was dirty and the place in general did not look hygienic. Now I've eaten at other Pakistani restaurants before and the difference between this place and the others was like the ground and sky. The venue itself looks like a house that hasn't been refurbished in years. The little 'decor' there was and furniture is outdated. It seems as though this place is still stuck in the 80s and 90s period. And to top it off, when I asked for a receipt, the man sighed loudly and began writing it out...I mean, really?! Just avoid this place; food and service...
