My experience at Raj Boy was extremely disappointing. Although the £15 minimum spend per person was clearly communicated, we were made to wait in the reception area even though the restaurant was nearly empty, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. Many of the items we wanted from the menu were unavailable, and the staff persistently pushed us to order more expensive dishes.
Notably, the thali—traditionally expected to be a sort of all-inclusive meal—was priced at £14.90, just shy of the minimum spend. This seemed like an intentional way to force customers to order additional items to meet the requirement. Despite having only two tables occupied, our food took almost an hour to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes lacked authentic Indian flavours and the meat was bland and unappetizing.
Overall, the combination of limited menu availability, slow service, a minimum spend gimmick, and lackluster food made for a truly frustrating dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for genuine Indian cuisine...
Read moreHorrendous attitude Walked in with a friend and shunted to a table- no welcome at all, no offer of a drink or poppadums.... gut reaction was not good! We looked at menus and decided very quickly what we wanted. I grabbed the attention of the same (and only) waiter who sat us down and said we're good and ready to order. For the first time EVER in my 20 year experience of ordering indian food he said, "When I'M ready I'll take your order"...and he went to another table. I don't do horrendous and rude service well and I bolted to my feet and we up and left with words of "that's not how this service industry thing works mate". Really pleased we didn't eat there after all as just finished a lovely Indian from another place with great people and...
Read moreGuys, would not have commented but seeing many reviews with expectations of Indian taste thought of writing. I being an Indian had been to this restaurant seeing the name as well as guided by the Hotel I stayed nearby, but realised that it's a Bangla run restaurant. Indian food menu but not the Indian food or rotis. Hope you got it. Other sit in facility hotel with "Indian restaurant name" not exactly Indian too as I visited the Indiana restaurant nearby next day and found that too not run by Indians. Left without ordering...as I wanted to pay for Indian taste. Limehouse doesn't have one. Some takeaway restaurant I noticed with Indian food name nearby to the signal near that supermarket but managed rest of the days with...
