The Yurt Cafe is one of these little gems hidden in plain sight, a place you look forward to revisiting for different reasons: - because you noticed something on the menu that you'll try next time since you can't try everything all at once. - because you know that through different seasons the vibe will be just as inclusive and welcoming but with an exciting new twists each time. - because FOOD! Ok let's unpack this last part: we decided to try the brunches, vegan for me and meat for the other half. Mine came with smashed avocado and the other half got bacon. Both had a tasty bubble and squeak portion and both types of sausages very super tasty. The sourdough bread was *chef kiss* and neither of us walked away feeling hungry or disappointed! Take from that review what you need: but my parting advice is to urge you to try it, this place is a hidden little gem with freshly cooked food, locally sourced cakes, an inclusive and respectful ethos and great service!

We popped in for brunch on Sunday. The sunshine made the space really. The food was acceptable, we settled on 6/10 rating. Service was friendly and (too) quick. I doubt that any brunch can be cooked in 5 minutes, and since it all arrived cold i assume a lot of it was pre prepared. I fou d the sausage tasting a bit odd in my Full english so had the rest which was fine. Bf gad the veggie version, he said that the halloumi wasn’t grilled properly so he didnt finish that. Hot chocolate was a bit too sweet for us but that is potentially our taste as we dont have sugar at home. The doughnut was good once we removed the sugar icing. Overall we will probably only be back for drinks and pastry. The space is huge both inside (about 30 tables) and out about 30 tables there too. It a nice space to do some work with a laptop, or have a quick coffee. it’s right by the Limehouse station (quick access from the c2c exit).

Love love this place! Amazing find! I love the concept of a cafe in the Yurt, it was cozy and homely. Food is SO SO reasonably priced I couldn’t believe my eyes! Mains were £4-6/7 pounds and I thought they’d be small so we ordered 4 but they recommended us not to. Turns out each dish was quite hearty and of a good portion. Food is not exactly authentic but it’s not what they are trying to do and it was delicious! Flavourful and filling. I liked their shashuka. Their yurt beans was also commendable. Coffee was pretty good as well and again very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again!

Full disclosure, food and coffee here is fantastic. I've been coming here for lunch for a couple of years as I work around the corner. Every time I've had great food in a really nice cozy setting. The choice of vegan bakes is fantastic and the food has a real charm to it. Rustic, simple & pretty good value.

The reason for the 2 star review is the service! I've had such slow service too many times now that i felt I had to leave a review. I could let slide once or twice where I felt i'd waited too long for a coffee to be brought out. In fact on one occasion last year I was given a freebie (can't remember what it was) as way of apology. However on too many occasions now I've had to wait over 30 minutes for a soup or a coffee and a brownie to be brought to my table. I now wouldn't risk ordering food on my lunch break because it may not turn up in time. Even tea and coffee can take ages!

Although it's nice to have your tea or coffee brought to your table it doesn't seam to work. It seams like the cashier is taking everybody in the queues order before making the order of the first person. It gives the impression the place is quiet when in reality they're just backlogging food and drink orders without actually making them until they get nobody at the counter.

If you've got time to sit and hang out all day while you wait for your food or drinks then I can highly recommend but otherwise keep your orders simple and be...

Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience at the Yurt Cafe. I ordered a vegan sandwich, and after waiting half an hour, nothing had come. I walked in and asked them if the food was on its way, I was assured it was coming. At this point, no offer of a coffee on the house or anything else.

After another 10 minutes, a bacon sandwich arrived- I informed the waitress that I hadn't ordered this, and reminded her I had confirmed what I ordered only 10 minutes ago.

The waitress tried to argue with me, saying "they've lost your ticket. You probably didn't pay for your food. Or you didnt order inside". I was really shocked by this, but showed her the transaction in my banking app, to which she replied "oh you did pay... okay". Still no offer for a free coffee, which is the least I'd expect.

Finally, after a 40 minute wait, my sandwich arrived- the waitress said "sorry" and would I like a coffee on the house (finally)

I accepted and asked for an oat milk latte- unfortunately, the coffee that followed was with normal milk- I didn't bother raising this as clearly they don't care

Overall very disappointed, the staff didn't take the time to apologise properly or explain why the food took so long- I'd reccomend avoiding if...

Came to see a friend's art exhibition. It was a very hot day and the shaded area was very busy. Inside was very stuffy although there was an air-conditioning unit in the ordering area of the first yurt. Coffee was good. Had the vegan sausage sandwich for lunch which was tasty and had a nice salad garnish and lots of sausages. The server had trouble with the draught beer and said he'd bring it out to us. I had to go in when it didn't appear and they were still unable to serve the pilsner. He gave us 3 'complimentary ' bottles of Peroni instead. I've no idea if this was worth the same as what we'd already paid for 1.5 pints of the draught beer and he was too busy to do anything other than hand over the bottles. Carafes of tap water were available to take outside which was welcome on such a hot day. There was a knitting group meeting when we first arrived and the cafe definitely had a community feel. The art work was easy to see, particularly as most customers were outside. Outside furniture was basic and a bit wobbly but fine. Gender neutral toilets clean but the door of the disabled toilet would not close. Cakes looked good and lots of people were enjoying the...
