Rakkas — Restaurant in London

DO NOT BOTHER TO BOOK!!!!! DO NOT LET TIKTOK FOOL YOU!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!!!

We booked this restaurant for a special birthday occasion and ended up having to rescheduling due to health reasons. My girlfriend called the first time explaining why we had to reschedule and was able to get to get a new date but no confirmation text or email. The day of the booking was coming up and we hadn’t heard anything! We was told over the phone that there was no note saying we had rebooked, we got told multiple of times we was going to get to get a call back to confirm from the manager and nothing, meaning they wanted to steal there £20 deposit.

Secondly, we requested for special seating as we wanted to be comfortable for this occasion and you wouldn’t believe when we arrived at the restaurant the service was abysmal!!! We were seated by the front reception behind the female toilets. We asked once to be reseated as it was a birthday dinner and we got told “the only seating is in the lounge and we would have to do shisha” and pay extra, we refused and said no we don’t want the lounge we want the restaurant. She then proceeded to get a table and squeeze it in between 2 large tables. The table was extremely small and made us feel packed sardines especially with the restaurant itself being so tiny. We could hardly fit anything on our table.

Upon coming we was also excited for the entertainment which they stated had a live fire show. Please do not let this fool you, the entertainment is once every hour and is done for 3/4 minutes when the song finishes playing.

The hospitality was utterly disgusting no complimentary water or shots we didn’t any designated waitress you would just wave ur hand at anyone and they would look at you so confused as no communication between staff The food was tasteless and bland even the rice we got had to be changed as it was clumped up together, serving us day old rice!! The meat was just not up to restaurant standard, I could not taste any seasonings apart from the bare minimum salt n garlic, especially with us getting the platter it made it difficult to eat

Thirdly, there was people dressed in all different types of clothing making us feel under dressed eg. Sliders, flipflops, hats, durag and tracksuit The security guard had the audacity to even look at me in a certain manner as if I had been wearing something completely stupid

It was so shocking to the point where we stopped eating our food and left halfway as we could not continue any further, we were not made to feel welcome at all! As we was leaving no one member of staff asked if it was our food or service was okay despite them knowing it was a birthday occasion. This truly ruined the evening and I would not recommend...

We came here for my partner's birthday, from what I saw in TikTok and their instagram I thought the place was bigger than it actually is. My bad for never being in person before. That wouldn't be a huge problem if there were less tables, however the place was packed to the point where you couldn't hear yourself at all. Food was acceptable, my order was tasty but my friends complained about theirs as it came cold and unseasoned especially the mac n cheese. The cocktails were nice. The entertainment was okay, to be fair I didn't have high expectations when I saw how tiny the space is. Since it was a birthday, I made sure to specify to the lady that took us to the table that we want to surprise the birthday girl with their special service. Once the food was taken away, we were all expecting them to bring the surprise as the birthday girl was starting to feel suspicious, but were rudely told that we need to pay and leave and probably someone else's booking was next. I told the guy about the service and they came back with the desert and the fireworks. We had to rush to eat it as we were told again to hurry up. We didn't even get to take pictures as we wished. Once the bill came, I was surprised by the amount as the deposit that I paid was not deducted. I paid for me and my partner and in total it came to about 89 pounds, if I was to pay for the service fee to let's say it would come up to 110. However I paid a 60 pound deposit which was meant to be deducted at the end so I'd have to pay maybe 60 pounds. But I was asked to pay 135 and after speaking to one of the staff members and his colleague, everyone seemed to be convinced that this was the right amount. I was getting irritated and did not want to cause a scene as money isn't my biggest concern, but this was definitely not right and I wish I went to complain at the reception that day. But becoming it was a birthday, I didn't want to ruin the mood. Anyways overall the place looks okay, could do with some tinted windows as it's right by the road and could do with better table placement. But I guess they care more about the money than how their clients feel. The food is nothing to die for, it's just acceptable but you can find better for the London standard prices. The staff looks like they're either underpaid or just don't want to be there as they act cold and rude. I wouldn't go there for a special event, maybe just for a quick dinner with a friend. No parking, no wheelchair accessibility and I wouldn't recommend for children as...

Decided to take my son here for his 17th, something different in terms of entertainment ie fire show, at a restaurant etc. We enjoyed the experience. Between our table we had the Tomahawk, mac n cheese, mixed grill, chicken wings, shish, calamari - which we all enjoyed. We paid for the Birthday smoke show - which was a nice touch for my son, however the service was very slow we must of asked about 3 times for the cake to come out - by this point my son had clocked onto something going on as we'd finished our food and was just sat there waiting - ruined the surprise! As the food was nice and we enjoyed the overall experience we just put it down to bad luck on the day in terms of slow service, my son was happy so all good......

Now, fast forward 2 weeks and I visited again for my Birthday with the girls. Disappointed is an understatement!

Six of us crammed onto a small round table with long serving plates was a challenge to eat from. But we thought ok, not too much of an issue just a messy looking kids table - omg it just went from bad to worse. Wrong drinks being served to our table, missing drink orders, this time food was dry and bland(namely the chops)had to get waitresses attention for clearing up our finished plates which took ages, had to get their attention to order more drinks. We could of literally just got up and walked out and they would not of noticed! I brang my own birthday cake and to top it off, they bought someone else's cake out to me, while the other birthday table recognised their cake - mine and their table shouting out the mistake! THEN I waited about 20 mins for mine to come out and that was after asking them to bring it. We all had enough and just wanted to leave. Waited about another 20 mins for manager to come to see us as we had to make a complaint. Manager was apologetic and explained short staff issues.

No point in having the restaurant nicely decorated with hit and miss food, and awful service. If you are under staffed don't take any more bookings and have an amount of tables you can wait on correctly.

The table next to us waited over an hour for their food!!! We left around 12am and they were just tucking into their food. The restaurant is meant to close at 12!
