Used to be overall good but now bed bugs in my room:
UPDATE 12/1/24: Customer Service told me pest control checked the room and did not find signs of bed bugs. They did a canine inspection. I do not know if their pest control company took a look at the 2 living bugs I caught on the sheets and handed over to reception (since examining the actual insect is the most accurate method of verifying a bed beg infestation, whereas studies indicate the accuracy of sniffer dogs between only 47% up to 98% depending on the study). Anyway, no bed bug treatment of the room is done because of the canine inspection. Still I highly doubt that I could have gotten more than 80 bed bug bites anywhere else. From all I know the 2 bugs I caught were bed bugs, one was even full of blood when I crushed it. Also I did not sleep anywhere else (apart from my home where no bites occur) and after 2 hours on a theatre seat or a ride on the tube one will not have 80 bites, especially on well covered areas like feet or toes. So I think it is very careless to not treat the room and open it again just like that for new guests. I am definitely not going back there to be a human bed bug monitor.
4/1/24: I stayed at Travelodge London Manor House four times between Oct. 2022 and January 2024, between 4 and 8 nights each time. During the first stays it was a good experience, but now in Dez 23/Jan 24 I had bed bugs in my room (room 102). I discovered two small living bugs crawling on the sheets on the last morning of my stay (3rd Jan) and now, having been home since yesterday, the bites on my skin pop up (around 30 so far). I took the smashed bugs to reception and they told me they would call their engineer immediately. I e-mailed their general customer service team too today to ensure the room or hotel will be treated and enquire how they do these treatments. Of course these days with the bed bug spread it's not the hotels fault, but I wanted to leave a warning here.
Other than that before this incident the stays were pleasant. The location is good, Piccadilly line literally on the doorstep. Rooms have a good size (for single use at least), bathroom was very clean, appliances worked well. Reception always friendly, you can get refills on dried coffee or tea e.g. anytime from them or borrow a hairdryer. As other guests mentioned carpets are a bit stained, the sheets also often had small stains on them (residues after washing). Housekeeping only does refills like fresh towels or tea on request (I like that really because that way there is a lot less noise from housekeeping, I am a light sleeper). So the hotel is rather quiet, it is very well soundproofed to street noise. Depending on your neighbours you might here a bit of the doors or noise from adjacent bathrooms, but overall quiet. A pity really, I planned to come back for a week soon but feels impossible now since I very much fear that I might take...

While the service provided by the staff was generally very good and the room nice, I feel compelled to bring to your attention several serious issues that significantly impacted the experience:
It became apparent during our stay that the hotel is still being used as accommodation by Haringey/Hackney Council for social housing, including potential refugees. While I have great sympathy for those in need of shelter, I must express my disappointment that paying guests, who are charged premium rates, are not receiving the quality of experience they deserve.
The presence of social housing within the hotel significantly alters the atmosphere (e.g. children running in the bar, unhygienic toilets- see below) and I believe Travelodge should clearly define whether this location is primarily a hotel or a facility for social housing- it cannot be both, out of fairness to guests. The current situation does not serve either purpose well and it is totally unacceptable, to customers paying in good faith for the Travelodge experience.
The downstairs toilet was in a deplorable state. The bin was filled with soiled toilet paper and a sign had been put up by the staff instructing guests to dispose of toilet paper in the toilet, not the bin. This is not only unhygienic but also highly unusual in the UK, where such practices are not the norm. The toilet itself was dirty and poorly maintained, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel of any standard.
(Original Post) FYI this hotel is currently housing local council residents- there surely should be a notice of this when booking, especially when customers are paying upwards of £150 a night and the hotel is a mess (see below)!! There was rubbish/ a mess in the corridors for over 24 hours (not cleaned up- see photos of big piles of Pringle crisps/bin bags by lifts that were there over 24 hours). I'm not snobby but women and children were wearing pyjamas/onesies in the main lobby and kids were running around the corridors slamming doors late at night. The rooms are ok, but there was a smell in the rooms/corridor and the heating was not working properly. Also, the breakfast is terrible (cold and horrible bacon/sausage/ powdered eggs). It's a shame as some of the hotel staff are quite nice and the service is quite good as well as the location. For the money, it needs to be...
Read moreVery bad experience, i stayed here with my family with 2 kids twice in the span on one week and both times had terrible experience. From 25th May to 27th May, I was allocated room 109 whose air conditioning does not work. I stayed here for first night and then had to request multiple times coming up and down asking the staff to change my room. Finally they did change after a lot of requests, no apologies received this time. I was scared for health and safety of my kids as the room 109 was suffocating as the heaters were on a hot London day. One of the kind lady dont remember her name, during our first visit she was the one who changed our room after visiting and seeing how bad the room was. But 2nd experience was worse with Paolo and Tyron.
Next on May 29 i checked in again to find out I have been given the same room 109, during checkin I mentioned to Paolo this room had issues as I had stayed literally 3 days back but he mentioned they have sorted the issue. So i trusted and checked in it. But the air-conditioning issue was still there the room was suffocating for my kids as it was so hot. I requested multiple times to Paolo and then to Tyron to change my room they sent me back again and again mentioning they have adjusted the AC and it will be better but the room never got better. I had to come down to reception atleast 5 times, I requested so many times that i have two kids (1 year and 4 year) please change my room and they did not change it inspite of so many requests telling me that hotel is fully booked and they will sort the air-conditioning from the reception itself asking to wait 20 mins again and again. Then at 11 Pm when the room so still so hot they suddenly got one room available where they said you can change. But by 11 pm my kids were asleep and they gave me a room where lift doesn't go, I told them I have luggage and two kids but both Paolo and Tyron were absolutely not kind. No apologies and they did not even had the courtesy to say we will assist you in moving to the room. Such kind of bad customer service is so disappointing. I love Travelodge and have been a regular customer. But this was the worst experience we had, we spent the night in room 109 with sweating throughout the night. Will never recommend this Travelodge to anyone. Bad staff Paolo and Tyron, hope someone teaches them to be kind to customers who pay...
