My partner and I went for dinner bank holiday Monday, the lady that answered the phone was rude, and very sarcastic! There was just no need for it, and after speaking to her we really shouldn’t had bothered. But we didn’t let that deter us and we continued with our plans. As last time we had a great meal! We had the same lady again greet us, once again rude has no customer service skills whatsoever. She shouted at us as we wanted to sit in a specific place. We order all of us dishes together hence it makes more sense for us to have more room. Plus we didn’t want to be near everyone as we wanted a quiet meal. Again totally rude woman. This really put us off and and i didn’t even bother to speak to her. The glass we got the drinks in was dirty. Furthermore, any questions we asked her she had no clue or she would just raise her voice. How can you work there and have no clue about her own menu, I had ordered something previously wanted the same thing again I showed them a picture of their own food and they misinformed me. The bread I received was terrible garlic bread thing. Not what I ordered - It was horrible. The food wasn’t particularly tasty or good on this occasion I had asked for extra spicy, this was somehow an issue. It should be down to me how spicy I want something! I didn’t even want to pay the service charge due to this awful night. Tbh I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Staff were not attentive, we were ignored etc. nobody checked on us otherwise I may have mentioned this at the time. Didn’t even get offered limoncello, considering we spent quite a bit was disappointing. I would avoid this place in the future. It ruined our date night, and after highly praising this place I can honestly say I would not recommend it to...
Read moreA warm welcome when we arrived at this family run Italian restaurant. It was quite early in the evening but there were already several occupied tables - always a good sign. Our coats were taken. we were seated and immediately offered drinks, which arrived promtly together with olives and mini toasts. There were five of us, each ordering different starters and mains. Whilst we waited, plates of warm pizza style rosemary foccacia arrived - it was so delicious and difficult not to eat too much! Luckily my female fellow diner and I hadn't ordered starters. The men's starters arrived and were very much enjoyed; I tried some of my husband's fried calamari which was perfectly cooked in a light crispy batter. We were enjoying some amazing red Italian wine. when our mains arrived. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented, nicely garnished and served with veggies and saute potatoes. I had ordered calf's liver and bacon; three large thin slices of liver - just how I like it and perfectly cooked back bacon. We each really enjoyed our meal and five empty plates proved the point! As we were eating, early diners left and the restaurant gradually filled up. It appeared that most of the customers were 'regulars' and I can understand why. This is an intimate local restaurant not often found these days, completely unpretentious, warm and relaxing. On this occasion, we skipped pudding and coffee but will try to leave some room when we return....
Read moreI never dined in this restuarant. However, I do live locally and I must say, even after the cut off time to stop playing music, they continue to do this. Many people wouldn’t look at this as an issue but when there are 4 hardworking people doing long shifts, it is effecting our work performance.
When I confronted them and begged them to just turn the music down, this resulted in them confronting me in my own home, yelling at me that they can do what they want and if they want to they will blast music whenever they want. The owner used threatening language to me - I’m only 21 and so is my sister who was there - and got me very scared as he was in his 40’s and using the most disgusting language! I work 6 days a week and he said I have to put up with it because he works 2 days a week!! Are these people having a laugh? I’m a bar manager myself so I know how this industry works. What kind of vile creature threatens 2 21 year olds who are just begging him to turn the music down as we had Work early the next day!
Baring in mind, the very next day they blasted music until 4am despite me pleading with them. I even got the council, the police, you name it because we are all at the end of our tether. This is going all over social media!!
Not to mention, their food is disgusting, their hygiene and manners is appalling. If they don’t like customers then surely they are in the wrong...
