Came here for my birthday but unfortunately had to leave early. First of all, all the staff are lovely, the wine is delicious (obviously) and the hummus was also super tasty which was a nice surprise (although two slices of bread? For the price of hummus and bread that was way too little).
My issue came with the atmosphere. Our table of 4 was right next to a blocked off area for a large booking. This booking of est 25 people really ruined our night. They screamed everytime a new member of their group entered, didn't use their seats so ended up stating around our table shouting over it to eachother meaning my booking couldn't hear eachother. When asked if we could move we were told everywhere was booked and they couldn't swap us, despite having empty tables at they point so they could have put a smaller booking who would be less effected on our table. With the large booking taking over most of the tiny bar it became a 15 minute wait to use the single toilet on premesis and a long wait to get drinks too as the aforementioned large group took to standing at the bar in crowds while one person got a drink. Really wanted to stay but I couldn't hear the music or hear my friends two seats away, push my chair out because someone was standing behind me and not in their sectioned off area, use the toilet or get a drink very easily so unfortunately had to leave and go to Mother Kelly's instead to salvage what was left of my birthday. I love this place but definitely not...
Read moreLet me start with the positive. The place itself is really nice with stainless steel tanks and dim light. Staff is excellent: very helpful and friendly. That would be it. Unfortunately this will cannot make up for a very bad wine that is served there. I tried 3 different bottles. First Renegade pinot noir that was off : tasted and smelled like nail varnish remover. Kind person by the bar agreed and suggested a different red. Unfortunately that wasn't any better!!! The last wine I tried there was Chardonnay that , at the begging, had a very nice floral notes that were overpowered by vinegary finish. None of my friends was able to finish their glasses, some event were worried if it will not make them fall ill. It felt like tasting different stages of vinegar production rather than wine. Never tried a wine like and I never wish to do it again. I was very disappointed by the quality (or lack of it)of Renegade wine. It wasn't my first visit there and before I sampled some rose which was actually nice. I was not expecting premier cru wines but for the price I paid the quality was...

I tried the Araceli, an orange wine that paired perfectly with olives, and the Lynne, a bold and smooth red that went so well with the hummus. Both were absolutely lush!
The food was amazing, the music was great, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between relaxed and vibrant. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into making Renegade such a special place.
If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy incredible wine, great food, and a welcoming vibe, Renegade should be at the top...
