Mixed experience at this place today. The main challenge was with a lady (I think called Aksa - pretty lady with long hair and much make up). I went to order my coffee and she provided a very bad service, rude and put me under pressure to order and pay quickly. Then i sat on my table and my sister, who had been there much before me, told me that she had a very bad experience with her as well. When we sat, she kept banging things as she was cleaning, which is understandable to a point, but not to the extent she was doing it - very loudly, which did not help with the stress after a long day at work. Lastly, she came outside and started asking each table if they have ordered food - she has absolutely zero manners - she did not ask us - sorry guys, can i interrupt you for one second, but what she did is interrupt my serious conversation by saying: Have you ordered food? In any case, she stressed us and made it a bad experience for us. There was a guy there slightly long, curly hair, who was absolutely lovely though. Also, my lemon tart was great and the coffee was one of the best ones i had in Muswell hill, the place was lovely, cosy, and v clean as well, so we will be definitely coming back but will also definitely be checking firstly if this v unpolite lady...
Read moreI sometimes go in for a coffee as they do a good Americano. However, I took my wife yesterday and had a fairly poor experience. We had a coffee, hot chocolate and a single slice of cake which came to £10.10. I thought this was fairly expensive but expected it to be pretty good so didn't mind. However, a few minutes later, the waitress came over to our table carrying the card reader and asked me to pay an additional 90p. She explained that she was new and hadn't realised there was an additional charge to sit in. I was a bit taken aback at how incredibly petty this was so just paid up. On reflection, I would have asked for a refund on that basis alone and taken my custom elsewhere. I felt bad for the waitress as it must have been embarrassing to have your boss ask you to chase up such a small amount for a simple error. The cake itself was not very good; there were only two slices left when we arrived so the fact it was dry and tasted stale might indicate it had been out for some time. Whilst the coffee was good as ever, the whole experience was not worth £11 and I won't...
Read moreI visited Roni’s Bagel Bakery for a Sunday breakfast.
The menu has a variety of choices, which is positive, but I decided to go for the “Greek Breakfast” and some hot chocolate.
It was quite a surprise for me why a meal with labneh cheese, challah bread and zahatar is called “Greek BKF”, since all those products are not traditional Greek products, but I thought to give it a try.
Unfortunately for this price, the meal was not satisfactory at all. 2 poached eggs, lots of cherry tomatoes and some labneh cannot be compared to a full English Breakfast in the same price tag. The challah was enough, but I had greater expectations from the main meal overall.
The hot chocolate was also not a great experience. Obviously hot milk with some cocoa powder from the super market, is not what you expect from a place like that.
Maybe I did the wrong choice, as for example the “saulty beef” looked more promising next to me, however I hope my review is perceived as constructive.
Looking forward to visit the place again and happy to...
