WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and a friend, and it was just awful from the start. They seated us at a table near the door that wasn’t even clean. I politely asked the lady in a hijab (who took our order at the counter) to clean it before we sat down, but she told us to sit first, saying she’d clean it later. I insisted she clean it first because I wasn’t about to sit at a table with someone else’s leftover food on it. She gave me a look but did clean it, though clearly, she wasn’t happy about it. When she brought our food, she practically slammed the plates down on the table. These were glass or ceramic plates, by the way! Then she went back to get another plate of wings, did the same thing, and just waved her hand at us as if to say, “Eat,” without even a word. Didn’t even give us a smile. She gave us such an attitude, I couldn’t help but wonder if she was angry at us for some reason. We didn’t even have any cutlery, so my boyfriend went up to the counter to get some and mentioned her rude behaviour to another staff member. Later, we needed napkins, so my friend went to ask another staff member who was on the phone. He ignored my friend, even though the napkins were right beside him! My friend asked three times, but the guy just kept pretending he didn’t hear him, even though the phone wasn’t even wired. My friend came back empty-handed and frustrated. So, I went up to get the napkins myself, and the staff member actually said to me, “Phone calls are more important.” I couldn’t believe it. I thought, what about the customers? Are we not paying to eat here? It was pretty obvious they were treating us poorly because we’re Indian. The hostility was written all over their faces. Even as we left the restaurant, the staff kept staring at us, and the woman in the hijab continued to show attitude. I’ve worked in restaurants and retail before, even as a cashier, and I would never treat customers like this. This experience was truly terrible, and I definitely won’t be coming back. Oh, and the food? It was just okay. I’ve had much better. The sauce was so sour, it felt like I was eating a...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering from Roosters in Mile End via Just eat, and I must say, it was nothing short of a culinary catastrophe. Not only did they manage to ruin my meal with an inedible amount of salt, but Justeat’s abysmal customer service left me feeling even saltier.
Upon receiving my order, I eagerly opened the package, only to be greeted by a sight that would make even the saltiest sailor blush. Every single chip in my order was drenched in a deathly amount of salt. I'm not exaggerating when I say that even a mere taste of these chips would have left me feeling sick. It was as if they had mistaken my order for a salt lick for livestock.
Naturally, I reached out to Justeat’s customer service team, hoping for a swift resolution to this salty debacle. However, my hopes were quickly dashed as I was met with an unhelpful and dismissive response. They callously informed me that their recipes were part of their policy, as if that somehow justified their egregious mistake. No policy in the world can excuse such a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.
It is truly disheartening to witness a company that not only fails to take responsibility for their mistakes but also refuses to acknowledge the impact it has on their customers. I can only imagine the countless others who have fallen victim to their over-seasoned atrocities, left with no recourse for their dissatisfaction.
As a food enthusiast, I understand that taste preferences can vary, but there is a fine line between a well-seasoned dish, an assault on the taste buds and near hospitalisation.
Moving forward, I’ve deleted Justeat and will never order from Roosters again. I would advise everyone else to steer clear of this company if you value your taste buds and sanity. Their over-seasoned chips are a culinary nightmare, and their customer service is nothing short of a disappointment. Save yourself the agony and seek out a company that understands the importance of a balanced and enjoyable dining experience. Basically - Deliveroo and Ubereats. And I stay clear of roosters because Nandos...
Read moreI'm not even sure they deserve the one star here. I walked in with two kids and a hot drink from the coffee shop next door. Before I sat down I was stopped by a staff member who said you can't eat and drink things you bought from outside. Naturally I said I'm not here just to find a seat I'm here to sit and eat she said ok. Just as we sat down another staff member come over and said "You need to leave" without even trying to understand what we were trying to do. I responded saying I will be paying to eat here she said "it doesn't matter you can't bring anything from outside." I explained they were kids and needed something to keep them occupied. Her response was "What? With coffee?" It was obvious at this point that she didn't have kids and that she had no genuine care in her customers. I didn't even argue I said if its an issue I'll discuss this with a member of management. She walked off then come back with my food 30 minutes later she was smirking for what reason I don't know and made our dining experience so uncomfortable. We wanted to eat and leave. They are two innocent kids who did not create a mess and did not disturb the running of the business. I cannot comprehend what the issue was as I was still a paying customer and my kids ate there too. How would the drinks have affected her from doing her job I don't know. Please educate your staff and teach them to show their customers respect make people feel welcome because if this carries on this would be the end of your business.
Reading their previous reviews too means one thing. TRAIN your staff the basics of customer service. To sum up do not visit this place if you have kids. As they would be made to feel uncomfortable....
