Roundwood Lodge Cafe — Restaurant in London

Awful place to be - not child friendly even though it is in a park!! My two year old had a tantrum which all two year old do at some point and a member of staff shouted at me from behind the counter saying that i needed to make him be quiet or leave!! As anyone who has children will understand that is not always simple when u have two children one eating there food and one having a tantrum as the chips were to hot to eat! I left so my two year old did not get to eat his food- I am actually shocked and embarrassed by the way i was treated she shouted this across the cafe did not even have the decency to approach me in a more dignified way! Any parent will know a parents worse fear is there child having a tantrum/ meltdown in public and we do everything in our power to avoid these tantrums occurring and instead of putting parents down we should be picking each other up and supporting each other in these times - I am honestly shocked and disgusted in the way I was treated and hope no one else's child has a meltdown in this non child...

I grew up around the corner and have been going to this cafe under various managements for decades. I love visiting with my young kids, the sandpit, swings and play hut keep them happy while I enjoy a coffee. The food is delicious and good value. My favourite is the ful medames, a super comforting Egyptian bean dish. They do an excellent fry up too, and a mini fry up for when your appetite is a bit smaller - wish more places did this! In particular though, the staff are what makes this place special. The lovely Egyptian owner and his partner and Fatima, as well as a host of lovely baristas. I went there often when my dad (sadly now passed) had acute dementia. It got us out of the house and they were so welcoming and gracious about his sometimes odd behaviour. I come here quite often and it’s amazing the staff are amazing and kind. The prices are great especially with the quality of the food. And the place is always clean. This place is child friendly it’s always full of kids I also sometimes bring my cousin here, sometimes he can be a handful, all the staff are always so patient with him and so kind so I’m very grateful ❤️. The staff are all great with all the other kids as-well.They’re also dog friendly they give out free treats to all the amazing dogs that come to visit. I’m just very grateful with all the staff and the amazing food and drinks they serve. You’d think their price’s would be higher with the cost of living crisis going on and the fact they’re a small business but that is definitely not the issue. Thank you guys so...
