If you're thinking about going, consider the weather spoons across the road for a cheaper and better steak meal... This, I believe, is my first negitive review of a restaurant. The menu was misleading, the cuts of low quality, and there was no attempt to resolve our clear disappointment. We visited Sunday around 5pm. I'll start with the pros... They were kind enough to let us BYOB purchased from Tesco's as they don't have an on-license. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a big spacious open plan. The steak marinade was nice. Like many other reviews here, the attentiveness and serve time was below par. We were the only people sat in the restaurant (should have been a telling sign), there were 3 wait Staff and yet it was 15mins before our order was taken and a half hour cook time. - I can only imagine how this would fair at a busier time. I ordered a T-bone steak and it was the most disappointing cut I've ever had. The menu described the tbone steak correctly being the cut with both the fillet and sirloin joined by a bone, however they had completely cut the fillet away and just left a Grissely untrimmed thin remnant of a sirloin. There was at most 100g of edible meat. (Photo attached) My friend who joined me ordered lamb ribs which in similar fashion had near to no meat on. The staff didn't check in to see how the meal was - I imagine they're used to negitive feedback at this point. I actively seeks there attention to ask where the other half of my steak was, mentioned on the menu, the waiter sheepishly dismissed it with a shrug and a smile and then retreated out of sight. After 10 minutes of sitting with finished plates, a waiter returned to remove one plate, then never returned to take the rest. It felt bizzare. - again we were the only ones in there and there. We both left hungry and have no plans to return.

AVOID. I am sad to see that whilst other customers had pretty good experiences, judging by the reviews, our experience was a STARK contrast to this. We tried to enjoy a mother's day meal for 5 of us, and whilst I understand it's a busy day, we were plagued with issues that any restaurant should get right as a basic principle. Orders had to be sent back multiple times due to incorrectness, service was unattentive and poor e.g. no drinks offered for 20mins when we arrived and from then on were constantly wrong, no cutlery given with the meals, items forgotten or missed entirely... it was just bad all round. Nobody asked about any allergies also. My mother and father in-law didn't want hot sauce in their chicken burgers, which later arrived WITH hot sauce. The server promptly blamed the kitchen staff, and muttered to himself before taking the dishes away. The same burgers were returned to us with hot sauce scraped off, which was not acceptable. We were then told we would get "fresh" ones, which would take some time to be cooked naturally. The 2 SAME burgers then were brought back to us having been fried further (and frankly burnt), and the original hot sauce covered with cheese slices. Other meals were missing items such as gravy, had frozen vegetables to accompany them alongside the cold chips. All the while this was happening the restaurant was filled with the noise of a child screaming at the top of his lungs and spitting at his parents. Delightful. We got up and left the unfinished meals, and paid for what little we had consumed before going home to throw a pizza in the oven at 9.30pm so we weren't hungry. All in all, I would avoid this place at all costs!

The Royal Steak House was a random choice and a pleasant surprise. Walking down Welling's High Street, looking for a family dinner, we stopped in front of the Royal Steak House and decided to step in. The friendly waitress immediately placed us on a table. They offer a very good and adorable Kids-Menu - our Girls loved their dishes. For the adults - a sirloin steak, served on a sizzling Iron Plate, cooked to the requested point on a bed of caramelized onions. The side - chips and a delicious garlic sauce. I can give all 5 star's because this restaurant exceeded our expectations. One thing to note - they do not sell alcohol, your welcome to bring your own; but if you, like us, can have a dinner with out wine or beer, then try the fruit mixture they offer

This, I believe, is my first negitive review of a restaurant. The menu was misleading, the cuts of low quality, and there was no attempt to resolve our clear disappointment.

Extremely disappointed. We’ve been coming here since it first opened and seemed to be such a good find - we even recommended to our family and friends. Unfortunately as time has gone on they’ve managed to get progressively worse but still gave the place the benefit of the doubt as we loved it so much to begin with. Today was the final straw and have lost a customer indefinitely, the place is never full (today they only had 3 tables) yet it took 20 minutes for someone to even come and take our food or drink order. After repeating what we wanted we waited ages for them to bring our food. We ordered two chicken burger meals which both came without chips and any of the extras we had asked for. The burgers were overly burnt and the waiter took back the burgers for them to not add the extras we then reminded them we wanted. Mine came back with chips whereas my partner never received his after asking a further two times. I had to remind them to bring over the garlic bread which was basically just plain bread. Service was below standard as were the meals. We had to argue to get even the extras we didn’t receive off of the bill, their apology was just a measly ice cream on a stick which nobody wanted after their poor excuse of a meal. So please save your money and go elsewhere, it’s not...
