I had high expectations for Ruby's Pizza after reading the reviews online, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. To start with the positives: the booking process was very straightforward and hassle-free, which I appreciated. On arrival, the staff were friendly and welcoming, which gave a good first impression and set a pleasant tone for the evening. However, once we were seated, a few things stood out that were a bit disappointing. The soft drink selection was extremely limited — just a small selections for those not drinking alcohol. In contrast, the alcohol menu was much more extensive, featuring a wide variety of options. We ordered two pizzas — a Margherita and a salami. While the flavors were decent, the execution left much to be desired. The salami pizza had very little salami on it, making it feel a bit stingy for the price. Both pizzas were quite sloppy in texture, lacking the crispness and structure you’d typically expect from a good-quality pizza. It felt more like a rushed or uneven bake. One thing that left a particularly sour taste was the service charge. A tip was automatically added to the bill without any prior mention or consent. While I fully support tipping for good service, it would have been more appropriate to either inform us in advance or allow the option to tip at our discretion. Being automatically charged feels a bit presumptuous and can make customers feel uncomfortable. Overall, while Ruby’s had a few bright spots, the overall experience didn’t quite justify the reputation or the prices. There’s definitely room for improvement in both the food and the customer experience. Would...

Food is very nice succulent flavour and well presented Good choice of food and drinks

However issues if you have allergies or are vegan 🌱 They have to get the manager for some reason to come over and explain to you about the kitchen and get you to sign something on their little iPad to state you acknowledge the terms and conditions of buying your food, which to me is insulting unnecessary and belittling.

The staff are generally okay and fairly friendly, some more than others However the vibe inside the venue is a little clinical and strange We had asked if we could have some Tabasco for the pizza 🍕 and was told it wasn’t an option and they don’t stock it for customers If we wanted a dip they sold it separately or we could have chilli 🌶️ oil for free. However in plain sight there were 5 bottles of Tabasco on the display shelf. We asked again a different member of staff and he agreed to give us some after checking with the kitchen.

It’s an ideal restaurant for families and disabled persons as it’s a good space and flat level access.

The food and drinks are good But on this occasion it was the management and internal restaurant protocol that has damaged their stars on the review.

We should not as customers have to wait longer for food because we have allergies or choose to be vegan/vegetarian I shouldn’t have to sign and listen to a big statement when visiting a restaurant This is the first visit to this chain and my last.

There are far better pizza 🍕 outlets in Clapham who won’t treat you as a second rate customer due to your food choices...

Awful experience—not the first time either.

This time, I ordered a pizza at 18:45 for pickup and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I kept checking the order status on the website, but nothing changed. At 19:49, I finally called, only to be told the pizza had been ready since 19:15. No one reached out, and the website never updated. I didn’t want a cold pizza, so they offered to remake it and said it would be ready in 5 minutes. When I arrived, it was clearly just reheated—and still cold.

Sadly, this wasn’t my first bad experience. On a previous visit, I waited over 20 minutes just to place an order because they have a single queue for dine-in, reservations, and takeaway. After finally paying, I was told I’d need to wait another 30 minutes for the pizza. When I asked to cancel, they refunded me in cash, but the whole thing was a waste of time.

Really disappointed with the poor service and lack of organisation. It's a shame because I had Rudy's on other locations and really...

This place never disappoints! A mix of amazing staff, great food and pelasant atmosphere. Staff are over the top in making sure u have a great visit and enjoy your food. We wanted the veggetarian campana from the starters but they changed the menu and now it has salami in it, if you are a salami person i would still recommend it. Instead we had two pizzas: the Genovese from the specials it's vegetarian with a pesto base and black olives and those Dominus Vesuviano tomatoes are next level. The other is the Capricciosa but we had it without the Ham and it tasted amazing, especially with that load of portabrllo mushroom. Finally the tiramisu was a great deasert to finish eith, very subtle not too heavy, coffee resets our palate and just the right amount of sweetness to compliment the meal. Special shout out to Martina ( i hope i got the name right) for being so sweet and lovely helping us choose and paying attention to whenever we wanted something.
