Runway — Restaurant in London

It’s always so hard to leave London but this time we chose to spend the night before flying out at the Hilton Garden Inn Heathrow Terminals 2/3. Best plan ever! The hotel itself is easy to get to from the Piccadilly line. The rooms are big and comfy. Accessibility the next morning getting to the flight is easy. But the real icing on the cake is the Runway Bar and excellent staff, notably Surbhi. Upon entering the bar/restaurant after checking in, Surbhi welcomed us, let us choose the seating that worked for us, and treated us like royalty from that point on. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and was so knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendation based on my input was spot on. Incredible views, average food, abysmal service. Honestly service was mixed. First visit was subpar, second visit was most attentive. This bar is located on the 14th floor of the Hilton Garden Inn Terminal 2 hotel. It is accessible via the Terminal 2 car park. Offers incredible views of runway 27L/9R, if you’re bringing a pocket scanner Heathrow rebroadcasts their aviation frequencies in the 455s, so it’s possible to do some light plane spotting from the lounge. Both visits I had the burger, which was too oniony and didn’t use the highest quality beef. The chips were acceptable, but it was just an excuse to see the views. I traveled from Florida to Asia and stopped in London, just because it was cheaper to fly through London, and I really like the UK. I had many bags, so I decided to stay at the Hilton in Terminal 2. I stayed there for two nights and went to the Runway both nights. I didn't order food, but the drinks are pretty good. The service is great, and the view is amazing; you can see the runway at LHR. The staff is so nice, especially Sabita, who is very friendly. I really like the atmosphere. If you stay at the Hilton in Terminal 2 or nearby, I highly recommend at least taking a look.
