My family and I entered on Easter Sunday expecting to find the old cafe that was on this site, but instead we found this gem and decided to give it a go! Very glad we made that choice.
Upon entry, we were the only people inside the cafe and we were quick to be greeted by the staff member who kindly asked us whether we wanted a table for three and provided us with menus.
The menu itself is absolutely amazing. Everything is reasonably priced and thereās a great selection of different dishes ranging from a full English to fancy sandwiches to lovely crepes and even desserts and cakes!
We decided to order x3 full English, a Nutella and banana crepe, an Oreo shake, a matcha smoothie and a latte.
First came the drinks in a nice beige tray, all of the drinks look fabulous (see attached) and taste fabulous.
Next, we received the full Englishās (see attached). Lovely portion for a light breakfast, definitely not for someone who wants a heavy breakfast. Very much fulfilling. Everything is seasoned nicely: the hashbrown tasted fresh, the tomato was really soft and juicy, the toast has a lovely crisp too, the sausages were delightful, the turkey rashers had quite a salty baseā very nice, the beans were⦠beans, beans are perfect of course.
After completing devouring those excellent Englishās, I received my banana and Nutella crepe (see attached). The shock on my face. Massive crepe covered with sliced bananas, drizzled in Nutella and topped with powdered sugar. Incredible and tasteful.
Most definitely recommend this cheap and affordable cafe for anyone passing by the Crystal Palace triangle. Itās a great addition, great for the family, great for almost any occasion...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI moved to Sydenham a month or so ago, and after a few trips to Crystal Palace I have no hesitation in calling this my favourite cafe in the entire area. The proprietor is extremely friendly and the interior is tastefully decorated, but my goodness the FOOD here is extraordinary - there's a resident galette chef who has to be some sort of genius. I like that there are only about 7 or 8 savoury galette options - the two I've had, the 'Chevre' and the 'Nordique' have both been masterpieces; why offer endless choice when you can offer perfection? I'm not sure who asked for a smoked salmon galette with cheese, rocket and a special emulsion sauce, but the result is one of the best brunches I can remember. I also got walnut cake last time I went, which turned out to be some sort of elevated baklava - all syrupy ooze in a yielding French pastry case. I presume the chef is responsible for this too. EDIT: I now realise the proprietor's wife runs the cafe with him and makes the cakes! Absolutely marvellous job! The three people who run this place (including the galette chef) are an incredible team and I just hope they manage to tempt more of the local clientele away from other cafes that shan't be named. Come here instead! You won't have to wait half an hour to be served and the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRymCafe ā¦. what a wonderful addition to the Crystal Palace Triangle. The atmosphere as you enter is calm, warm and welcoming; the owners are super friendly and go over and above to accommodate their customers; the drinks are expertly made; the new menu choices are superb to suit all tastes and the quality and presentation of the food is divine. The cakes are so moist and delicious and the last two cakes I ordered from Ryma were absolutely heavenly as were the cupcakes. The photos speak for themselvesā¦. Ryma is a skilled artist when it comes to baking and puts so much care and love in her presentation our guests are still talking about it! Highly recommended. I would give more stars if I could! This is a delightful family run cafe and we wish them all the very best. Thank you for always looking after us and making us feel special...
