Damnation and no noodles..

Dropped by this establishment (Finsbury Park branch) with the Mrs Saturday evening at around 20:30, looking forward to getting out of the rain and getting some hot noodles. We were promptly seated in a booth type section and given menus and some water by the waitress, all going well thus far.. After a few minutes of studying the menu, we were approached by a floppy haired gentleman, who appeared to be in an elevated state of consciousness of the cannabis persuasion, this waiter then proceeded to take our order and we happily sat there waiting for out food. Around 21:05 the floppy hair waiter approaches our table and informs us that our order had been lost and as compensation he will throw in the drinks, my entire coke and wife's lemonade, how generous! We again repeat our order and proceed to wait, mistakes happen right..? Yes, they do indeed, particularly when you have oblivious, incompetent staff.. Mr. Floppy then again approaches our table at 21:15 and inform us that the hot and sour soup base for the noodles we ordered were finished.. I suppose we should have ordered them 45 minutes earlier.. Oh wait, we did do that.. Needless to say, but will say it anyways, Damnation and No Noodles is not worth the time. There's a nice Korean restaurant across the road as well as a few good Turkish places in the vicinity, save yourself the hassle.

UPDATE: just heard from a neighbour, apparently this establishment uses the 'ran out of x, y, z food' when it's close to 22:00 and they can't be bothered cooking.. How pathetic and...

I've been to SIN(Dalston) many many times. The taste of the foods were amazing and unique. They served very good quality food. I went here very often and even recognised the staffs. But recently, I visited the restaurant again and I was so so disappointed. I went there with my boyfriend as usual. I came inside and no any staff gave us the menu (all of them are new staffs). But that was fine, I don't mind. Then I ordered BUN BO HUE. I was so surprise when the food came. The beef brisket in the bowl was not cooked. I don't know that SIN changed the recipe or what. But usually, the beef in this dish support to be stewed until it's tender which is so tasty. (I had it every time so I know what it would be). I asked staffs "Is something wrong with the food'. Staffs told me that this is the way they serve, they always serve like this. If they tell the truth that means you changed the recipe which became lower quality of meat and lacking of meticulous cooking. How come that you increased the price but the quality of the foods were reduced this much.

I'm sad because I really loved the food and service of SIN. I had told my friends that I never had great vietnamese food like this. But now I have to change my mind. I'm not sure if I want to go back because the food here is something that I can find in somewhere else which...

Really disappointed. Gone down hill in every sense. My partner and I are locals and used to frequent this place a lot when it first opened. The food was amazing, the staff super nice and attentive and atmosphere was great, open but could also feel intimate. I recently took some friends here, raving about it, but... the lighting was almost dayglow. The staff were All completely new and inexperienced with the menu. The menu had changed a lot and all the best old bits were no longer cooked although still on the menu. (Took them several visits to the kitchen to find this out) The food was sooo spicy my friend just couldn't eat hers and she tried, we were starving. I had the same dish. Fortunately I had asked for a very mild version and I could only just taste mine. (I've had a bad stomach days after). My friend felt like she'd had her lips done it was soo spicy. I spoke to the manager to ask if something could be done. She immediately retreated to let her very nice, polite but inexperienced waiter to deal with it. Poor guy. They eventually took off half the price of her meal because she had drank some of the soup. Won't be going back at all. There's a much better Pho restaurant on Kingsland road, that has great food, great atmosphere, super friendly staff. Wish I'd taken my guests there. Do...

Went there earlier and it was quiet during weekend lunchtime. Quality and the speed of services were surprisingly good despite some negativity in previous review. Had a weekend lunch deal with a chicken spring rolls and this beef noodles salad. Both were Vietnamese classics and both were done very good. Spring rolls came out hot and fresh. Beef noodles were probably one of the good ones I have had in London

OK but there are cheaper and more authentic places for pho. Also they told us they had run out of the spicy soup on a Sunday at 2pm, I gave the benefit of the doubt but on other reviews it says apparently they use the run out of *insert food* excuse when they can't be bothered cooking. However if you go, get the chicken wings, they were very very good.

Weekend comfort - big bowl of Pho! What better way on a Sunday than a big bowl of hot noodle soup, plenty of beef and fresh herbs. The weekend special comes with one selection of either a spring or summer roll with dipping sauce, for 9.99. Unbeatable. Round 2: Tried the sticky chicken wings and tofu salad starters. Highly recommended!! see photos.
