First time visiting this restaurant and it is definitely the last time!. The kebab’s were raw and the food was dry and tasteless. I could not believe I was served raw kebabs that I nearly chocked on due to being extremely chewy and dry which made me want to be physically sick. My family and I were initially sat next to the mens toilets and notice several flys and the smell from the mens toilets was not exactly pleasant and a total put off if your having your meal. So we decided to move to another table. We did mention the flys to the waiter but I got the impression he did not understand English, as it took several of us to explain what a fly was?? Considering its winter, it was extremely unusual for flys to be present, unless theres hygiene issues?? We also noticed other customers complaining about the flys, so the waiter moved them to the other end of the restaurant. The restaurants hygiene could improve and they definitely need to do something about the single glazing, which made our experience as if we were sat outside in the freezing cold. The staff just stood around starring, which was so uncomfortable. On the positive, when I did raise concerns about the kebabs being raw the staff were obliging and did not charge me, which was considerate. Overall the portions of servings are huge. They took just under an hour to serve our order. The starters were also served at the same time as the main course which made no sense. The restaurant needs to improve levels of hygiene and replace the previous pub’s interior and allow their restaurant its own identity, as you can still see remanence of the old pub. I cant say this restaurant provides the ‘WOW FACTOR’ and the prices are way too much for the quality of food and service. So its a big...

Driven past this place many times. Looks inviting and welcoming. Upon walking up you can smell the charcoal which is always a pleasant smell. As you walk into the seating area you pass a large charcoal pit with skewered meat which is nice to see. Lovely traditional lighting. Verry attentive waiting staff. The pricing on the main curry dishes is a little steep and there should be an option to go for half a chicken or smaller portion in my opinion. The karahi was good. Nothing amazing though. The chapli kebab was good again nothing amazing. The minced lamb skewers was verry good. It was soft and mildly spiced and the actual meat was packed with flavour. Upon leaving I noticed the skewered mince meat on the side and can see where all the flavour was coming from. It was the very high fat content of the meat which was clearly visible. This was soft melt in your mouth fat though and nothing gristle. Naan was okay, the chilli paneer was okay, the lamb pices on the skewers were a bit chewy and needed to be more tender. The rice was a bit dry and could have done was a little more stronger flavouring on the yakni(stock). There was a bit of a wait on the chicken karahi but I guess it was being made freshbut still would have been good to have with naan and other mains. Starters were good. Everyone enjoyed the Olveston ,salad and houmous. Nothing stand out here though in my opinion. A good experience but nothing outstanding and the pricing was okay except on the...

Shiraz Afghani Restaurant in Luton is an exceptional dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to try something new and delicious. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that sets the tone for a wonderful meal.

The restaurant has a wide range of authentic Afghan dishes, each of which is bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The standout dish for me was the lamb shank, which was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the seasoning was just perfect. The portion sizes were generous, and I left feeling full and satisfied.

The service at Shiraz Afghani Restaurant is exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations and ensure you have everything you need for a great dining experience. The restaurant is also very reasonably priced, making it an excellent option for a special night out or a casual meal with friends.

Overall, I highly recommend Shiraz Afghani Restaurant in Luton. It's a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of Afghanistan, fantastic service, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere that will keep you coming...

I went on probably the busiest day (Eid) so had to wait for half an hour to be seated, as it is a very popular place. I called before to see if I had to book a table but it seems it's just a first come first served basis. There is off street parking which is very good. I did not see any blue badge parking which would be a let down, but the parking was full that perhaps I didn't see something written on the ground. The portions are generous. The salad is good, the three sauces are nice as well. The Mega grill is quite big and tasty, not chilli. The lamb chops in it delicious. The chapli kebabs very tasty as well. The naan huge. The chicken karahi was very nice as well. I liked the decorations (lights), that you can see the wonderful barbecue, the pile of jalabis. Unfortunately I was so full I couldn't taste their desserts. Maybe next time. They have a nice Majlis area but it was full so could not experience it this time. Overall, it's a very nice place to eat halal Afghani food
