One positive: Dhushi the server is the glue that holds the chaotic mess that the manager obviously doesn't care about because he's an absolute waste of time and space. The manager is why this place stands out as my worst restaurant experience I can remember.
Came here for Mother's Day and what an absolute disaster. This manager (pictured in pink shirt) clearly can't handle a busy and successful restaurant and is probably related to the owner, otherwise why would someone have so little accountability, care so little about his job or how he treats people patronizing his business? We were with someone 8 months pregnant with a booking, and first they give the table they were cleaning to someone else. We ask for beers that were given warm. When we asked the manager why both beers were warm (not lukewarm, warm) he said "we're busy." As if its an excuse to serve warm draft beer because they're making money.
The owner/manager completely dismissed the concerns, and the poor server offered cold bottled beers. Having run a restaurant in the past, staff that treat customers like they're eating there for free and don't respect them or their staff have no place running operations. He clearly is not only incapable of his job, but has disdain for everyone around him. We'll definitely t ell all we know to not return to this location because of his behavior. The manager even advised us as such. Saw another man being led away by his wife after complaining to the same manager and his disdain for doing the basic duties a restaurant owner should do.
Then it gets worse! They spill Rasam on the table, cracking the dish and spilling it all over the table. Spills on my clothes and all over the table. The server who is obviously overwhelmed because of the poor managerial skills is stunned, so I have to grab napkins and clean the spilling soup that went all over our clothes, cell phones, and everything. The manager mocked me when I asked if they'd cover cleaning our clothes while I'm acting as staff cleaning the table we were waiting for dishes to be served. Next, they serve drinks in a sit down restaurant in plastic cups because they "ran out of glasses". The reason? They're busy of course! You'd think if they were this busy they could pay for more glasses at least.
And the coup de grace, served dosas that were ice cold. After telling the server, he said in broken English "no ice cold". I said "touch it, it couldn't be colder. He repeated no "no ice cold, no ice cold" as he took it away. We knew the service was abysmal here, but arguing about the temperature of the food? It's being taken away, there's a reason I'm sitting here hungry after waiting 1 hour for an ice cold dosa.
Talk about Kitchen Nightmares, avoid at all costs. This is the worst restaurant experience I can remember. The manager/owner should be embarrassed for being so greedy/profiteering. I hope things change or this place shuts for good. This place is an embarrassment to...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant 4/5 times previously and enjoyed the food however it seems they have recruited new staff and I didn’t recognise the management therefore it may have changed.
After calling them earlier in the day, I found they don’t take reservations but we decided to visit anyway (big mistake) .... waiting time was around 2hrs
First thing I noticed was they had refurb which was OK.
After finally getting a table, we ordered 5 x starters, 5 x drinks and 5 x mains. Most of the things we wanted to eat on the menu were not available which was disappointing
After 40 min 3 drinks and 1 starter arrive. I reminded the waiter about the remaining starters and drinks about 3 times.
Another 15/20 minutes pass and our mains arrive (before the starters) the 2 missing drinks also arrive.
At this point I ask the waiter to take back the mains as I would like to eat my starters first. The waiter insisted we have the mains and the starters will follow soon. After about 3 minutes of debating I though I just want to eat after 3 hrs of total wait time so I gave in and accepted the mains before the starter!!
The starters never arrived and I finally gave up hope of them arriving so I had my cold mains and decided to cancel the rest of the order.
I then asked for the bill and the waiter said I had to pay at the welcome desk where about 50 people were waiting for a table with no regard for social distancing.
There was no communication between the person charging (the owner) and the waiter as she tried to charge me for the full order not taking into consideration everything they didn’t serve, also she tried to charge for 7 drinks when we only had 5.
After a emergency team meeting in the corner with her waiter team she decided to charge me accurately however did not apologise for the bad experience nor offer any concession for the bad experience
For me this was not acceptable and a nightmare scenario which I have never experienced before in any restaurant.
In summary, I experienced poor service, poor staff attitude, long waiting times, the food was borderline cold and dry, half my order did not get served, they tried to over charge me, no social distancing, nobody took my name or details down incase the government test and track service needed to contact me. It seems they simply can’t handle the flow of guests.
I’m not sure how many regulars they will loose due to their falling standards and I have seen many bad reviews when scrolling through some of the review sites.
Also I wonder what will happen after the eat out scheme finishes and restaurants will have to compete based on taste and service?!?!
I would NOT recommend the...
Read moreFirst time here and definitely the last. When we arrived, we weren't approached with a smile, nor presented with good customer service. Once seated, we received the menus and enquired about food on the menu. The waitress couldn't understand us due to the language barrier, despite us speaking basic English. Where we were seated, the family next to us were extremely loud, so we asked to be seated in a quieter area of the restaurant, which was all okay.
When our food arrived, within a minute, the same waitress approached us to see if our food was okay, but we hadn't even put it in our mouths. Once we had a taste of our food, it wasn't nice at all. The madras dishes that we ordered were bland and tasted like there was too much curry powder added to it. Therefore, we asked to change these dishes for a butter chicken curry dish instead. We also asked the waiter if we could have new rotis because by the time our new curry would've arrived, the roti would be cold. The waiter responded with, "we could heat them up for you." This was ridiculous as they made the mistake with the initial dishes and couldn't even give us fresh roti.
When our new dish arrived, it tasted terrible. We weren't pleased with our service or our food. When we asked for our bill from the first waiter, the bill didn't even arrive. We had to ask another waiter for the bill before we got it. When it arrived, we were hit by a service charge of 10%, which was £4.98 for us. So we had to request to take that off our bill.
In conclusion, our first experience was terrible, and we will not be going...
