Just get to this place to have a few drink with friends, we arrived early around 17:30 the place was still empty and me and my 3friends start to have a few drink, while drinking we went outside to smoke a few time without issues (details which have is importance) as once the place start to be a bit busier around 19. We decided to take one more drink and so queue up in the bar to order, it was happy hour so we had more than 1 glasses on the table (we was sitting literally next to the bar and next to an other table which was full of paper work from the restaurant I guess manager left it here messy) anyway we decide to go and have a cigarette just after ordering our drink and leaving the glass on the table as we was doing before and surprisingly find our table empty when we came back. We so went to the bar explaining that we just ordered that drink which was on the table and that they was full we just went to have a cigarette. The manager start automatically to be agressive and told us that all the cup on that table was empty and that we was lying (which is already crazy like answer to give to customers) we just try to explain to her again the situation and that we just paid 40£ for drinks that we didn’t even drink as they took it from the table but she still gave us attitude telling to the staff working in the bar to not give us anything appart 1beer (while we ordered 4cocktails which was 8coxktails as it was happy hour) and we was 4 of us so why just giving us just 1 single beer it’s making no sense. Anyway she just left and ignore us the all rest of the time. That bartender in the bar was really understanding the situation and trying to help us but wasn’t able to do anything as it was his “superior decision” which is normal and comprehensive position from is part. Anyway I will not recommend this place as Management is an absolut joke without notion of customers service and communication, stilling money from people and accusing them customers of lier. Also reminding that places are now full of CCTV so apparently it was much easier from her to treat us like garbage instead of checking on her staff and apologise for the mistake...
Read moreWent to Simmons Bar - Piccadilly Circus for a drink with a friend but left after the rude service we received from the host, unsure of her name although she was a caucasian girl in her early 20's who wore glasses. I advised her my friend and I had the Dusk app (an app which many bars work with to promote their bar by offering a free drink to app users). The rude host asked me and my friend if we were actually going to buy any drinks or if we were only there for the free drink.. I have used this app time and time again and gone to dusk-promoted bars many times yet have never been asked this before and found it very rude. There was absolutely no reason at all to ask ''if we were just there for the free drink" as this is irrelevant. Simmons Bar's are all a part of the Dusk free drink promotion therefore why do you need to question dusk app users if they are going to purchase drinks after using the promotion? The host treated us like cheapskates or something and was invasively asking if we were actually going to spend anymore after receiving the free drink (which we were up until speaking to her). We went into the bar thinking we would have a nice time and get a couple of rounds although left after our experience with the host. I would never have someone like that working for me and I won't be going back to that branch of Simmons again. It is so easy to provide kind and friendly service yet this rude girl failed to do even that. I am not sure why the bar manager would have someone rude and unpleasant as their host, making them lose business. Why be a part of the Dusk promotion if you are going to make Dusk users feel embarrassed for wanting to pursue the promotion. It wasn't just her irrelevant question that was the problem but her tone, facial expression and general deameanor that left us feeling really unwelcome for simply using the Dusk app. This girl was working as the host around 7.10pm or so on Monday 30th August....
Read moreI would give zero stars if possible. I had called the day before to book a table as we were travelling all the way from Nottingham. When we arrived, I went inside to check that we could still have the table as we were late. The place was still open, lots of customers inside, however... I was abruptly approached as soon as I walked in, being told “we are closed”. They actually close at 3am which is what I was told when I made the phone booking and it was only 12am!. I told them that I had a booking and they proceeded in telling me that they were closed. It started off with one staff member stopping me from walking into the bar any further and by the end of our 10 minute conversation, I had 3-4 staff members around me which felt like a total ambush. I was very confused and asked for a manager who told me the same things that they staff were saying!! I said “there’s lots of people in here” to which they responded that they were all staff! (Surely they don’t have around 30 staff who all dress casually and sit around drinking at 12am)!! ... I’m not sure why they kept lying to me. I was dressed extremely smart and I approached them with manners and respect when I entered the building. I was so confused that I then asked them To confirm that I was at Simmons bar in picadilly circus, to which the two staff members and the manager, lied to me and told me that I was in the wrong place and that wasn’t where I was!! (I will be asking head office to check the cameras and watch the incident). I feel that maybe I was too dark skinned to be welcomed which is absolutely appalling!!!
