St Margaret’s Fish Bar — Restaurant in London

I cannot convey strongly enough how poor customer service is at this restaurant. The owner of this delightful establishment needs to review this Chinese woman's etiquettes & mannerisms or be set to see the business running down in ashes. Me & husband made a simple request to change our table and she ran to us like a mad woman aimlessly screaming, we cannot sit on the requested table as it was her work station. We were in shock and horror as to what just happened and next I see her run to her colleague making gestures of how she denied us from sitting. I find that extremely unsympathetic towards our simple request. She is a perfect broody individual void of soul or compassion. All she was doing is assembling Cardboard take away box but the reaction seemed like shes sampling DNA . My enthusiasm for eating in the restaurant descended there and there as I do not want to pay for eat in and be treated like hipsters. Sadly, I can only give this a 1 star rating. I have been here on three occasions so didn’t feel I should make a judgment on one visit. On more than one occasion I have experienced appalling customer service. The female staff can be argumentative and on the first occasion which was a Good Friday so you would expect it to busy. The older lady was being quite rude , bellowing at customers all the while trying deal with food couriers who were also queuing out the door. I put that down to a particularly busy night. Tonight, however, my wife wanted to pay part cash and part debit card. The woman again made a right fuss and it took the older man to intervene to say that would be fine.

Food The cod and chips have been fine but tonight I ordered mince and onion pie and when I brought I home it was so dry and Dehydrated the what should’ve been moist mince meat inside was just a dry husk and completely inedible and went straight in the bin.

Went to the fish bar this eve just before closing for a late supper, no fish available but managed to get a sausage and chips with friends. In conversation with the lady manager who treated the fryer poorly, as she mentioned as she was from Hong Kong, and knowing I wasn’t English she became very rude and then went in a huge triade against British people, I felt very uncomfortable and took my cold!! Food and left. Knowing how she views most her clientele was very disturbing and the poor oily food means I won’t be coming back despite being a semi regular in the past (the delivery apps now allow for pier one, Nims and other much better places to be more accessible!) this place makes a lot of money due to the captive audience but go elsewhere for the best quality and staff!
