Spacious open park with some attractive trees, home to the elegant Marble Hill house with ornamental gardens and grotto. The park and house are free to enter, so well worth a visit if you're in the area. The gardens are small but attractive, with colourful floral beds when I visited in April, and they are being returned to authentically replicate how the gardens would have appeared in the Georgian period. Look out for the Black Walnut tree, an impressive example of its type. There's a reasonable size parking area on site, with 3 hours free for English Heritage members, long enough to look around the house and gardens and take a short walk along the river. Other facilities include a café, toilets and small gift shop in the house.

Beautiful public parkland by the River Thames, that were once the huge grounds of Marble Hill House. The mansion House was once home to the the owner of Twining Tea Company. On the North side of the park, it is overlooked by the home of J.M.W Turner, the painter.

On the south side of the park, just across the river, Ham House, the finest example of a Stewart period mansion, stands. West side of the park, neighbouring Orleans Park House, another majestic mansion once stood. The boundary walls, stables and the octagon shaped palladiun remain. A very large school now stands on the foundations of old 19th century house. Looking to the east side of the park, along the river, perched high on Richmond hill is The Star and Garter Home that was residence to disabled and wounded...

A great park suitable for families with small children and dog walking. It's full of character and history. The towpath can take you to Twickenham from one side, and Richmond from the other. There is a nursery for pre school children. Also a playground for older children. They have a newly created meadow to encourage butterflies and bees on the side of the house ( great educational place for school children) There is a cafe and a car park ( also easy access by bus). Lots of activities are taking place. The most enjoyable experience is the open sir pick nick concerts followed by fireworks ( possibly suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions). More accurate details...
