I was working on a film shoot around the corner. I parked outside the cafe at 7:30am and having read nice reviews about Zoran's, I thought I'd pop in to grab something to eat and go.
I walked in, leaving the door to close behind me and before I got to the till, I was greeted with a 'close the door'. I turned around, closed the door and walked back to the counter greeting the owner. His reply was "what can I get you, girl that doesn't close the door?"... I was a little confused as to why this bothered him so much, but continued to order. His reply was "sure, girl that doesn't close the door"... he continued to make comments about this under his breath which was making me feel very uncomfortable.
After receiving my food, I walked out, purposely closing the door behind me. After getting into my car, a hear a loud bang. I look over and see 1 of 2 guests seated in the cafe slam the door shut, look at me and make a gesture suggesting I was dumb. I was taken back and a little hurt by this. I look into the cafe and see the owner and guests making rude comments and hand gestures about me. The owner then comes out, gives me a sarcastic wave and smile....
Not entirely sure on why I was treated this way, nor why everyone in the cafe was in such a rude and negative mood before 8am in the morning but it's safe to say I will never be returning and neither will anyone else that was on a set that day.
As a business owner, you should be making a conscious effort to make guests feel at ease and safe in your workplace. This was the complete opposite and have 3 grown men making rude comments about me (a young women) whilst it's still dark before 8am is very concerning.
I'm sure this hasn't been the first for this very rude man.
Also, I'd like to note that the croissant I bought was very dry and burnt - great start...
Read moreI am vegan for health / allergy reasons, and like every other human being, I like to eat out. I had the sad misfortune to ask if they had anything without any meat or dairy in it on the menu. The server basically stood there and mocked me / laughed at me, then sarcastically said "I can give you a mushroom on a plate" and laughed aloud again. This was the worse I've ever been treated due to my dietary requirements, she was nasty and condescending.
If you have allergies, food sensitivities, are vegetarian, vegan, or have coeliacs or any other kind of sensitivity / want your food to be adjusted in any shape or form, please be aware that the staff not only don't have a clue what's in any of what you're waiting (which is alarming enough), but apparently it's okay to mock customers here. Disgraceful, we live locally and we're sharing this with our friends (also vegetarian, as a lot of health conscious people in...
Read moreThey were nice enough to let me DJ on their opening 11th October 2025. As you can see in the picture as that's when they opened the service was a little slow though but it was made up for in the delish stake sandwich and chips with Lotus biscuit milkshake I had. Wich I had two days afterwards. I also had a chai latte on the day it opened and it was devine. I'm hoping to DJ there again if they let me. Just a word of caution though some of these reviews are left over from the Caffe that was here before this one so always check the menu before seeing something in reviews and potentially ordering something they don't...
