Disappointed. Pretty mundane food, over-priced and unclear menu and charges. I thought I was ordering short ribs and turned out to be a burger. We had unexpected extras charged on our bill which wasn’t made clear. Not a great feeling. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad with asparagus and it came without asparagus and we were charged £4 extra for the chicken! ‘ - can you see any asparagus in the photo? ‘Do you want your burger with or without bacon?’ - This presumably means ‘would you like to order bacon as a extra?’ - as we found out when we got the bill with a bacon charge added. When I queried with Katarzyna she said she had asked if we would like extra bacon -this was not true! You must sell clearly and make it known what will be charged. A simple pub lunch with 2 drinks for 3 adults and 2 children without starter or sweets came to £80. I will skip lunch here next time and do my weeks grocery shopping instead! I paid a cash tip, but, as I had my focus on the extras charged on the bill), didn’t see the 12.5 % service charge addition as it’s easily missed as the total is in much larger print. So I paid a double tip by accident. I am happy to tip but it should be my decision and not forced upon me.

St Margaret's Tavern is a popular gastropub in Twickenham, London. It has a smart, rustic interior with exposed beams and a wood-burning stove. The menu features modern British cuisine, with dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. There is also a wide selection of beers on tap, as well as wines and cocktails. The pub is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. It is often busy, especially on weekends. However, the service is generally good and the food is well-prepared. St Margaret's Tavern also has a wide selection of beers on tap, as well as wines and cocktails. If you're looking for a place to watch a rugby match, St Margaret's Tavern is a great option. They have several TVs that show live rugby matches, and the atmosphere is always lively. Overall, I would give St Margaret's Tavern a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. It is a great place to go for a meal or a drink in Twickenham. Outdoor seating is available too.

Had Xmas lunch here -impressed with the staff -Kat and Mark were very accommodating and the service was very good . Not overly impressed with the food unfortunately. Soup was tasteless and the Xmas lunch was not very warm and the sprouts were rock hard . We asked for softer ones but got another round of hard ones …cheese board was good , Xmas pud not so much . Quite dear at £70 a head but to be expected for Xmas lunch I suppose . Service charge at £18 was a bit shocking but easily rectified . Lovely pub though and couldn’t fault the lovely staff just a shame about the food which could have been better.

Really disappointed at the decline in service at this pub. I've been multiple times and have really enjoyed it - the food has always been lovely and the staff have been great. However, it seems there has been a recent change in staff and it's now a very unfriendly place to visit. I went a few weeks ago and one of the servers was very moody and unkind, and there was an also an issue with the app which meant that my payment was taken but the order did not go through, to which the bartender said 'there's nothing we can do'. We went again tonight to see the women's England vs Wales game (which was advertised to be showing on their boards outside) but when we got there they were playing the Chelsea game instead. We asked a member of staff if this could be changed and he said 'leave it with me' but then never came back to us. We were waiting a while for our drinks to come out, and when one did, the coke was definitely out of syrup and just tasted like soda water. When we complained to them about this they said 'it's okay' and didn't offer to help at all. Two members of staff then went on their breaks in the oustide area and just looked like they were in a foul mood giving our group dirty looks. Just overall very sad that a pub that was once my favourite has now become such an awful...

Last night at the pub was one of those perfect, easygoing evenings. The place had a warm, welcoming buzz, and our waiter, Ihor, made the experience even better.

From the moment we sat down, Ihor was all smiles—friendly, quick-witted, and always there when we needed him. He recommended a local craft beer, which turned out to be the best drink of the night. When we struggled to pick something off the menu, he gave us his top picks, and he was spot on—the steak was cooked to perfection, and the fish and chips were crispy and golden.

Despite the pub being packed, Ihor never seemed rushed. He checked in just enough to make sure we were happy, but never interrupted a good conversation. When one of our friends accidentally knocked over a drink, he handled it with a laugh and had a fresh one on the table before we could even apologize.

By the end of the night, we all agreed—great food, great drinks, and thanks to Ihor, some of the best service we’d had in a long time. We'll definitely be...
