Sushi & Thai Express — Restaurant in London

Terrible experience. After ordering on their website for delivery and not being given a clear delivery time (had to choose "delivery slot G" whatever that means) I called quoting my order number, to ask when I can expect it to arrive. At this point I was asked for my order again and was told there are no delivery drivers available. It took a whole 5 minutes to explain that I just want to know when I can expect it, to get a quote for 30 minutes. However, 45 minutes and still no food, so I called to check on the order and was told my order was never received by the restaurant, even though I was staring at a confirmation screen saying my order was successfully placed. It really would have helped to be told this when I called to check the delivery time, right after placing my order. The person on the phone didn't seem to understand anything I was saying, couldn't give me a straight answer, and was just useless. The whole experience was an absolute shambles, this place needs to get its website and staff in order. Great first try of Sushi and Thai express.

Spicy salmon crunch roll- hint of spice but overall a refreshing flavour with lots of crunch form the fried onions.

Tiger roll - seared salmon is hard to find in rolls so was really looking forward to this. It’s slightly warm and has a toasted flavour. Great for anyone who is nervous about trying raw salmon. Easily my favourite of the order.

Chicken crunch roll - restaurant gave this for free. It’s not something we’d order, tends to be dry but this wasn’t at all. The avocado and sauce helped but most importantly the chicken katsu wasn’t dry!

Chicken Katsu curry- curry spices, more savoury than sweet. Had chunks of veg as opposed to a smooth sauce, down to preference really. Again the chicken wasn’t dry which makes all the difference.

Recommend everything above, particularly the Tiger roll.

Extraordinarily good food at this unassuming Thai/Japanese restaurant in Stepney Green. Dishes are cooked fresh to order and are always delicious with bold, vibrant and authentic flavours. I’ve been to Thailand several times and out of all the Thai restaurants I’ve visited in England, the chefs at Sushi Thai express capture the true tastes of Bangkok street food better than anyone else: Standout dishes include the fragrant rich Tofu massaman curry and Prawn Garlic and Coriander (Pad Kratiam) stir fry. They have a unique selection of homemade chilli sauces that give an addictive heat rush for chilli addicts like me. Service is always very genuine and caring. Portions are very generous (including rice) and prices extremely reasonable.
