I recently dined at "Taste of Yemen" and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. I had the pleasure of savoring the Mandi Lamb and Classic Masoub, and I must say, it was like taking a delightful trip down memory lane to my time in Jeddah. The Mandi Lamb was a perfect balance of flavors, with tender lamb infused with aromatic spices. It was served with fragrant rice that complemented the dish beautifully. Every bite was a symphony of taste. The Classic Masoub was a sweet revelation. The blend of ripe bananas, honey, creamy yogurt and milk transported me back to the warm hospitality I experienced in Jeddah. It was a comforting and heartwarming treat. Should've trusted my initial instincts and walked away, but like to give the benefit of doubt. Photos were not a true reflection of the place, service was so so, toilet was nasty, but more importantly, the food was evidently not fresh which was shamelessly denied by staff and unfortunately provided a very poor representation of what I've experienced of Yemeni cuisine elsewhere. Several items from the menu unavailable, Maraq should've been the giveaway. This (Taste of Yemen) restaurant offers one of the best authentic dining experiences for lamb and chicken Mandi, a Middle Eastern delicacy. The flavors of the dishes were rich and delightful, with tender meat and aromatic rice. The traditional Hijazi/Yemeni dessert, Masoob, and Date pudding with honey were also exceptional and left a lasting impression.
