In common with the huge Gail's down the road, service here depends on who's minding the shop and if they recognise you as a regular or not. This can vary from 5 star friendly to 3 star disinterested. This morning (Sunday 12th March) I got the latter.
I must admit that I've only been in half a dozen times since it ceased being Vivian's, usually at weekends on my way home after buying a morning paper. So around 10am I popped in and was ignored by all three staff, one clearing a table and the other two 'serving' (i.e talking to) a couple at the counter. They just need to work on their coffee as their food was very good. The staff was friendly, and the...

The decorative changes are a major downgrade, the prices have risen (I used to come here to buy Ortiz tuna as it was half the price than at Waitrose; now it's more!), the counter is no longer littered with cakes and cookies and other yummy delicacies, which all added to the cozy feel. Now they are hidden beneath a glass counter, out of sight. The chilled food section looks sad and empty; there's barely any cold drinks selection, as there's now only one small...
