A nice, chill place with decent gluten free options. They have gluten free bread which means a lot of breaky options are available to coeliacs. The staff are always very helpful when navigating the menu with me which is nice. The coffee is good, nothing special but it hit's the spot, the fresh juices are amazing and are a great price for London and the menu is big so there's loads of options (breakfast, sandwiches, pasta, moussaka, burgers).
The only down side is that the service is hit-and-miss. When it's quieter the staff are on it but when it's busy you might be waiting longer to be served/place your order. When I've been to The Blue Legume at busy times it felt like it was understaffed - not sure if that's actually the case, just the vibe I got from what I saw. Under staffing in hospitality seems to be a common issue in London however.
The Blue Legume is a staple of Stokey with it being, I believe, one of the first cafes to open on Church street. The area out back is super cute - totes insta worthy. I'd recommend hitting it up if you live locally or if you're a tourist visiting the area. For more gluten free/coeliac reviews check out The Gluten Free Minx on insta or tripadvisor. Read moreVery expensive, Lamb shank, Veg Moussaka, Padron Peppers, plate of small bread, 2 x large Pino, 2 x small Pino. The bill £95.00 with service charge! When we queried the bill the male staff shouted and was very rude and aggressive, he said we should have checked the prices before we ordered the food. We told him we were just letting them know that they are expensive and won't be coming back. We've eaten there many times.
Further to your reply: Apologies for mistakenly not including a second round of 2 large wine, however to say we were intoxicated just shows your poor customer service. We were definitely not intoxicated, as you know were were in your restaurant for a long time and were sipping the drink as well as having water, to respond we were intoxicated is shielding your behavior, it was your response that t caused the argument, you kept yelling at my friend, your colleague tried to calm you down but you as a male staff kept raising your arm to my female friend and there was no reason for that. I repeat all that was said " we weren't coming back due to the expensive bill" the male staff started yelling and coming towards us raising his hands - Very...
Read morewhat a cosy vibe on a rainy day!!! A Mediterranean restaurant, cosy interiors a perfect view of the bustling city through large windows. Heavy on your plate but not on your pocket. Visited @the_bluelegume with a friend and had an amazing meal! Candle lit tables with wooden furniture. The only worry was that the tables were set very close to each other so that sends Covid guidelines for a toss. I would advice popping by at a non busy hour as the place gets really crowded 6pm onwards. What I had: Pink Gin- A classic that can never go wrong! Guacamole Nachos- A really yummy side dish, full of flavours and lots n lots of garlic and Avocados. Falafel Burger with Halloumi- Different take on the usual Hummus, falafel platter. The food quantity is good! Ambience- cosy, dim lit, warm Affordability- ££ Service- Good, very enthusiastic staff! The area is flooded with several restaurants and still managed to garner so much crowd... means something💯 The cherry on the cake was the After Eights @aftereightuki they served when we were leaving and I was sold cause I have After Eight after my dinner everyday😍😍😍 and this...
