Friendly staff, delicious wraps. I go there as part of a vegan meet-up once a month and highly recommend the falafel wrap. It works a bit like subway - you choose a main and salad choice, sauces and extras. They sell meat and cheese too, just tell them your dietary requirements and they'll tell you what's suitable. They are patient about explaining the dishes to you, even when rushed.
Sometimes they run out of various bits and pieces which can be disappointing, but is at least testament to their quality. I say the fries aren't anything special - stick to the Mediterranean food. I like the mint lemonade too.
The atmosphere is OK - if you don't mind the wooden bench set up, it's comfortable enough. We often stay and chat a long time after we finish eating, no one tries to rush us out. Being part of the vegan group, we get a 10% discount.
Since they are small, when they are busy they can make mistakes with the orders but are nice enough about it and will make up for it as best they can. Considering they are understaffed I'm amazed how quick they are with orders and the falafels will reach you still warm.
The price isn't bad either - the meal deal could use some tweaking for choice, but you can certainly get full for around £6 and get to sample a few...
Read moremixed review.. I find it very strange that for a vegan friendly restaurant they don't offer ANY non-dairy milk, prices are also very high for what you're getting.. the salad bowls are basically the same salad you'd find at a Pizza Hut salad bar or subway salad bar.. low quality lettuce (shredded) plus cubed veg that doesn't taste great but you pay £8/9 for. the hummus Is REALLY good, and so are the dressings and sauces... I found the setting strange though. The concept was great but they look quite dingey and drab and the interior is not exciting at all, for a 'healthy' 'fresh' hummus bar they seem a bit confused with their identity... they don't do any fresh smoothies or juices or anything gluten free apart from the abysmal salad bowls. they are basically no better than going to a turkish kebab shop and getting a falafel/hummus pitta wrap or kebab but for half the price. This has the potential to be great.. their own falafel and hummus is ace but they need more gluten free choices and better quality of salad products and some fresh juice/smoothies other than the awful sugary lemonade would be great. Go for the hummus but otherwise...
Read moreI ordered a hummus bowl with garlic mushrooms and falafel on the side. Your meal is prepared while you wait (it doesn't usually take very long) and the food is always fresh. The bread was served warm, the salad (which you can select yourself, or they will do it for you, which I opted for) came in a good-sized portion and was much more than a few bits of lettuce - it had red cabbage, couscous, cucumber, tomato, green and black olives - and the falafel were warm and crisp. The hummus was well presented with the mushrooms and was generously drizzled with olive oil. I was quite full after finishing my meal and it came (plus a coffee) to just under £13. I had come here once before the previous week and had the falafel pitta with halloumi, which was also excellent.
This place has been around for a while and I wish I had visited sooner. It's a small, friendly place that serves good, healthy food at competitive prices and deserves to be around for...
