The Chef's Kitchen — Restaurant in London

Visited today with a friend and I ordered the roast lamb, roast potatoes, 2 veg and gravy. Having eaten here for man years as my friend lives across the road and my barber is next door.

As always, when ordering a roast, I ask what 2 veg they have, as all cafes change the 2 veg and usually have 3 Or more choices.

They had peas, carrots and cabbage as options, roast potatoes were not mentioned at this time and as clearly listed separately from the 2 veg, I expected to get the lamb, roast potatoes and gravy, regardless of my two veg options..

I chose cabbage and carrots.

When my roast dinner arrived, there were no roast potatoes.

I asked the owner where the roast potatoes were and he replied that they were coming.

I finished my meal and still no roast potatoes.

The owner said that Is what I had asked for and refused to knock any money off.

I attempted to explain that the roast dinner, clearly specifies that roast potatoes and the 2 veg were clearly labelled separately in the menu.

He refused to even acknowledge that the roast potatoes are listed seperately from the 2 veg on his menu and refused to acknowledge any responsibility for even, telling me that the roast potatoes were on their way, when he had absolutely no intention of bringing...

Looking back over the previous reviews it's a shame to leave such a bad one but, if I could leave minus stars I would have after the experience I've just had... I asked politely to change one item on the set menu and I was refused quite aggressively. I then asked if I could pay by card and was told to go to the cash machine once again very rudely... At this point I was very sure that this was not the cafe for me and decided to leave which I did with a loud laughter by the waitress as I left......

The Best Cafe In EN2, the staff are friendly the food is good, they serve solid builders portions with vegetarian options to choose from, what makes it extra special is that there is a lovely outside sheltered eating area out the back, on them hot summer mornings and afternoons it can feel like your seating in a Mediterranean style garden surrounded by tomato, cucumber and sunflowers that grow all around the...
