The Moon Under Water - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in London

Decent pub grub and excellent selection of beers. Big fan of spoons but the Moon really need a few more staff at busy times. Can wait an age to be served which spoils an otherwise great pub. Staff always have a smile though. Update... went for Sunday lunch today and half the menu unavailable due to delivery problems and equipment issues in the kitchen . Also the merlot from the tap was off and had to be returned. Ran out of Pink Gin as well. Hopefully just an off day and not going the way of KFC but a disappointing Sunday lunch experience . Further update... not sure what's going on but not much point having a great beer selection if half of them have 'run out' not just an isolated incident either. No excuse for a busy pub like this continually running out of food and beer.

Popped in last Sunday afternoon for a drink with family as I often do. I was keen to see the garden following the recent renovations. Have to say I was a bit disappointed. Obviously spent a lot of money but they've crammed in way too many tables which makes it feel a bit uncomfortable. Ordered a steak meal, plate was missing mushrooms and tomatoes.

When complained they bought half a tomato, no apology as if our fault.

Called for manager who sent over assisant. Already meal spoilt as I have had to complian. Thought a free drink would compensate. NO YOU CAN'T HAVE ONE.

OK TWO POUND REFUND AS ORGINAL MEAL 33%missing of what was on menu. Doesn't matter value they were happy to originally serve a meal with 2 missing items Manager sneaked off home leaving junior member of staff to deal with.

Don't get me wrong I'm a caterer you can run out of things, it's how you deal with it that matters..

I went with my friends over the weekend and asked for chips, explained I have serious gluten allergy. They ensured me the chips are gluten free and can be done in a separate fryer from gluten containing meals. Unfortunately that evening I experienced a flare up which is serious and when contacted to inform them they were anything but helpful. They gave the standard reply of a website provides information of allergies etc etc. However i ordered in person with somebody behind the bar. Staff behind the bar ensured me the chips being gluten free, if they had informed me of a cross contamination risk or they are in fact made in the same fryer as gluten I would not have ordered. The communication and knowledge of their allergies between kitchen and bar staff clearly needs updating and training. I experienced a serious allergic reaction from their lack of training and information provided. Would return for a drink but never order food...
