Read moreI used to visit this pub regularly as I love the changing monthly food and the beer was good. On this basis, I probably would have given it 5 stars. However, on one visit when I ordered alcohol and presented perfectly valid ID (a UK driving licence), the member of staff said "it doesn't look legit mate" and asked where I got it from. I am in my mid-twenties now so have had to show ID at a lot of different places and this has never happened anywhere else. Afterwards, I emailed the pub to let them know what had happened and suggested that they make staff aware of what valid ID looks like - if I had received an apology and assurance that this would be done, I would have been happy. However, I never received a reply...perhaps the jobsworth who served me at the time saw the email and deleted it in an attempt to protect his job.
This was some time ago now and hopefully this wouldn't happen to anyone else, however it is very poor for a business to ignore a customer complaint following bad service and the fact that this happened is worse than the...
Read moreAll the staff except for the manager and owner were friendly and nice. And I agree with other postings that the beer selection is very good. The owner and manager however, treated me like a homeless man because I had come in with my roller bag. Told me to get out and never come back. Owner told me I wasn't leaving fast enough as I was turning off my laptop and then put his nose in my face and made physical contact. Spent about 80 pounds over three days to be treated BY FAR the worst I've ever been treated in any establishment in the last 35 years. Just evil treatment. I'm an American attorney and I welcome the owner to challenge me on these truthful facts. His manager behaved even worse, but I'll restrict myself to specific details about just him for this rating. If I had been settling and establishing myself in London, he would've been answering a civil action for what he and his manager said and did towards...
