The European Pub — Restaurant in London

Terrible dining experience & service.

Having visited a number of times and been really impressed, we invited friends from out of the borough (a total of 8) and organised a babysitter for a local night out.

We arrived just before 7 and started on the opened a tab and ordered a bunch of starters at about 7.30. The starters were great and we enjoyed a few drinks, losing track of time in the evening sun. We then went to order our mains (burgers) at 8:55 we ordered and told the kitchen had closed at 9 and couldnt serve us.

Our dirty plates (and many other tables surrounding us) hadn't been cleared over an hour. There is nothing in the pub, on the menu that informed of the kitchen times nor had any staff mentioned it to us in the few rounds of drinks

Manager & staff didn't really care that it had spoiled our night and were more interested in packing up and having their own dinner (that had just been brought out)!

We had to leave promptly to go and get a meal else where; the pub will have lost ~£200 on lost covers!

Better dining options are available locally with much better and friendly service! A real shame as we want to support our...

So let’s clear things up, this place has only just opened with brand new owners & it’s all been totally refurbished. Any reviews from two years ago or even 6 months ago, have nothing to do with The European as it currently stands.

We went to try it yesterday afternoon, what an awesome pub and what a great job the owners have done….thank you for ANOTHER magnificent pub you have bought to Leyton. We ended up staying until 10pm, we also had dinner here.

The food is awesome! Exactly what you need from a pub, elevated yet accessible. The staff were all adorable, they were also super lovely with our dog and made him feel really welcome. The choice of draft beer was incredible and the wine list is really impressive, great orange wine selections and at reasonable prices…..thank you for that guys! Other pubs take note!

Really amazing atmosphere, really diverse and cool crowd. It’s nice to see the Leyton community come together to support this place. Also kinda nice to not have the Walthamstow Village lot ruin it! Although do please visit at some point, we have better pubs than you do ;-)

I really like this place. I’d been a couple of times earlier this year, with my wife and with some friends. Both times I really enjoyed it. This weekend we held my son’s first birthday there, in the afternoon. We had a brilliant time. The staff had listened to all of our requests (which we kept changing due to people dropping out!) and they were great at communicating with us and accommodating everything we asked for.

On the day itself, when we arrived to set up, the manager came over and introduced himself and talked us through the space we had, and offered to help us. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that when organising an event in a pub - normally staff are utterly indifferent! This was really a very pleasant surprise.

The food and drink we’d ordered all arrived on time and was delicious - the staff were also really helpful with us serving the birthday cake and raising a toast to the birthday boy.

I will definitely be back often- this is a great addition to the area. Thanks...
