Absolutely disgusting service after I have been coming to this restaurant since 2012. When the authentic Asian oriental staff gave a great service at that time. Tonight 29 03 2022 was the worst visit to a restaurant I have had in the UK. My partner and I were shown to our table and left for 20 mins without being asked whether we needed any drinks to start. We called to the blonde long haired manager as she walked by but she ignored us. We then called to a waiter who did not speak but gestured to the manager the that we needed service. We watched the manager show 2 sets of customers to their seats and provided them with drinks and still ignored us. My partner was ready to leave.. But as it was my birthday I said let's wait a little. The manager and waiter looked annoyed that we had the cheek to ask for service. Our last visit our bill was overcharged by £2.50.. Added extra tea.. No big deal but we would mention at end of meal. Time to pay the bill again manager added extra drink . Only drink we had was jasmine tea which came with free refills on the menu. The manager argued that it was £5 for tea despite the menu clearly stated £2.50 for a pot of tea with free refills. After visiting several buffets in London and always ordering jasmine tea with free refills this is the first restaurant to overcharge our card twice and refuse to do nothing about it. We asked for the owners email address or telephone number.. The shop manager blonde girl refused to refund and started to get an attitude and argue I warned her I would put this experience on trust pilot she replied ii feel sorry for you to argue over £2.50 which in fact was £5 overcharged total. Their was only one price on the menu for tea. The lady blonde long haired manager would not give her name or the owners contact details. Please do not waste your money at this restaurant as you are likely to be overcharged.

I visited the Halal Chinese buffet yesterday, attracted by their Monday to Wednesday £9.99 offer. Here's a detailed rundown of my experience: Highlights: - Rice: Spicy and flavorful, though some bits from the bottom were hard. Overall, very morish. - Singapore Noodles: Equally spicy with a lovely mouthfeel. Basic texture but tasty. - Chicken Wings: Easily the best item. Crispy, fresh, and well-seasoned. - Chicken in Curry: Very soft, spicy, and flavorful. Perfectly seasoned. Mixed Experience: - Chow Mein Noodles: Good flavor but had a bit of grittiness. - Crispy Seaweed: Sweet and crispy, but not my preference. - Spring Rolls: Tiny with a good crunch but minimal filling, more of an appetizer. - Beef: Soft and slightly spiced with good sauce. Not bad at all. Disappointments: - Orange Breaded Chicken: Rubbery and not crispy. Only recommend if fresh. - Deep Fried & Battered Chicken: Left out too long, sweet and rubbery. - Sweet & Sour Fish: Old coating, rubbery fish. Needs to be fresh. - Satay Chicken: Lacked seasoning and satay sauce. Rubbery and sweet. - BBQ Sauce Chicken: Rubbery and not fresh. - Curry Sauce: Thick and unpleasant consistency. - Prawn Toast: Overly oily with little prawn flavor. - Onion Rings: Oily and left out too long. - Soup: Sweet and sour but had an off taste. Special Mentions: - Rice: Both regular and special were well-seasoned and spicy. - Prawns: Fresh but overly oily with powdery breading. Overall, the buffet had its highs and lows. The rice, chicken curry, beef, and chicken wings are worth trying. Other items, especially those that weren't fresh, fell short. The £9.99 offer is good value for the highlights, but I’d be cautious about other days when prices are higher.

Hadn't been to GB for a few months, only to find on this occasion, the food looked okay, but was stale, been in the hotplates ages. The rice was hard and had completely dried out, the meat scraps available were probably the worst I've ever tried consuming. I left my meal half uneaten, didn't bother with the chopped fruit offered as a desert The icecream was stale and discoloured, obviously been in the freezer uncovered for some while. No manager available, still had to pay £13 for this unpleasant experience and as a result I sadly definitely will not be recommending Gourmet buffet to friends and colleagues in the future. It used to be a really nice restaurant. 🤔 ATT of. Restaurant owner/manager. The only law that forces businesses to provide free tap water applies to licensed premises. Pubs, bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs must provide free tap water if they sell alcohol, under the Licensing Act.

WHY TO AVOID SOME 1 STAR REVIEWS FOR THIS PLACE

Been here twice now, once with my mother for a WONDERFUL lunch. Approx £9. And once with my friend for dinner. £11.50 and I would LOVE to come again. The food is onpoint. Some of it isn't great for people who don't love unhealthy or oily food but as is most of this cuisine. There is an amazing range of food. I would say 95% of it is cooked to perfection and I couldn't ask for much else aside from a wider range, because its just too good! :) its easy to get to and although desert isn't a huge range, it is big enough for the huge meal id had. It features only a few fruits eg lychee, ppineapple, apple, melon and oranges but I think this is more than enough and a wonderful choice for washing down all of that fatty food!

There are various healthier options too in the food such as stewed vegetables, broccoli and mushrooms and even different soups or cold salad. I am very happy with the range of food, and, being able to eat a fair amount, I think its a great price for someone who doesn't really earn at all.

Customer service is beautiful. I noticed a small fly, honestly like a fruit fly, tiny. On the outside of a lidded food container. I told a member of staff (who are always accessible at the front desk or nicely monitoring and tidying your surroundings and food station) and they were kind enough to take the tray of food to check it all and they brought it back in very good time. EVEN after what happened a few minutes ago.

Further down in these comments you will see a person who rated 1 star who visited on the 10.05.19 this was the same day as me and I am certain it was the two ladies with the prawns. This is the first time I have seen anyone do this in public and it is quite disgusting. My friend and I sit down for a good meal and these ladies are conversing happily in a foreign language so i can't understand. They have LOTS on their plates. Noodles etc. THEY also have LOTS of prawns. cough cough like 8 between them when the tray only has like 15. It was empty as we came in so they must have finished them. Nobody else in the resturaunt had any.

The waitress comes over and asks if everyone's ok then when these ladies finish their food they snap. They start demanding where more prawns are. Saying they've been waiting. That the lady said she would order more. The lady, who is quite overwhelmed, bless her. Tries to explain that she has ordered the prawns but they must wait 20 minutes as a small refresh time. The ladies flip. Remember they ate a suitable amount. Even of seafood. They stand up and start shouting at the lady. Barking even though there are children and families around. About how, and I quote, 'this is terrible!' how 'this is a load of rubbish. This whole thing is nonsense ' and 'we didn't get what we want so we shouldn't have to pay because we got nothing' 'the staff and services here are (insert profanity under the sun here)' they WERE allowed to sign THE COMPLAINT BOOK. though they say they weren't. And I dont think they paid. They left a 1 star here. 'mona lisa'?

The staff took little action as they didn't know how to act but they were kind to the women the whole way though and didn't talk back. Please try to ignore 1 star reviews here if they dont seem...

QUESTION: Is this place a buffet, or is it only for certain types of people? I have never went to a buffet where the owner will literally walk around and serving people what he thinks they deserves in their plates.

They don’t refill and leave the dishes empty on purpose because they don’t want (The specific type of race to help themselves with the buffet) BY THE OWNER’S ORDERS

I’ve been coming here for about 5 years now and I always get treated like a criminal despite paying just like everyone else. I don’t eat most of the stuff in there because they’re mostly bland and basic. I only eat the pineapples as desert and 6 king prawns, (3 vegetable springs rolls, salad, sea weed, broccoli and mushrooms as a starter. Then I’ll have the special fried rice with the vegetables and shrimps, with more broccoli and black bean sauce from the meaty one on the left. Today I came in, and most of the dishes were empty PER USUAL.

Imagine fasting all day, after a long day at work and picked up my child from nursery and came here to eat my usuals, came in 15 minutes late after iftar and asked for water so I could break my fast. I asked the beautiful young lady when it’s the next refill for the prawns and she said 5minutes. I waited and obviously the owner must’ve told them to hand him the prawns so he could distribute it by walking to each table and dishing them out to people. He came to me and gave me 2 prawns and walked off with the tray and served the others as they wished then took the rest in the kitchen. After an hr of watching and wondering what the hell is going on. I then realised that he did not want me to eat the food. Knowing how hungry I was after a rough day of fasting I ate mostly spring rolls and a bowl of pineapple. I don’t eart ice cream or meat or chicken from here. The only thing that I eat here is what I mentioned above.

Today is my last time coming in here because the owner is becoming more arrogant and more aggressive with absolutely ZERO customer services manners. He is now picking and choosing the type of customers he feel/deemed worthy serve because he feels superior to serve anything darker than him.

What a shame.

Masha Allah, the two waitresses (SPECIALLY THE YOUNGER ONE, she's so kind and just helpful in every way, and her face just radiates NOT only beauty but compassion) May Allah grant you beautiful and better things in this dunya and the hereafter, so that you don’t in places like this and working with an Arrogant A’hole like that long faced, drooling chin, racist person like him as a boss, I pray that god put you in higher positions in life where you will be your own...

Do yourself, friends and family a favour and don't come here as its rubbish.

Food don't get replenished for 30-40min if your lucky. They pretend they were not aware that certain food has finished hoping no one asks them for more and when you do they take over 30-40min to get it so long as it's not the sea food in which case it may never come.

Have been going here over the past 5 years but unfortunately it gets worse and worse with each visit. We only go here because it's the only halal Chinese restaurant local to us. Today's vist was the worst and we have decided we will not go there again. The evening buffet is more expensive then the lunch time because they claim they have additional sea food dishes i.e prawns and mussel. We went there today as my kids wanted to eat prawns and mussel. When we got there there is exactly 4 mussels and few prawns which we got expecting that they will refill the dishes but this did not happen for approximately 1 hour when they decided to bring out few prawns but no mussels. I asked a staff member if they were going to bring any mussels only to be told that they have none left. When I explained that we only came in for the sea food I was told that "when you arrived there was some mussels" I explained that there was exactly 4 and we had taken them. There was 7 of us, so some of us did not even get to try any! They did not seem bothered. I cant understand why they charge more in the evening when they say that it because they have additional dishes when its excatally the same as during the day. Really use to enjoy going here but i will now stop as the food and service is going down the pan! What a shame! Spoke to few other guests this evening and they felt the same.

Guys fix up coz you are losing long term customers because your quality and service is going out the window.

Our bill was charged at full even though we did not get what we came in for.

Going forward we will go to JRC which is only few mins down the road, they maybe a bit more expensive but they have more variety and the cost includes drinks, they also don't do sea food with such limitations I.e cooking 10 pieces of prawns at a time. JRC we are now your going to be your long term customers. Good bye Gourmet Buffet coz you don't deserve...
