Had food here last night made by Chap Bistro/Chef Angus and definitely rate everything I ate 5*. Definition of a hidden gem but it really should be experienced by more people. The croquettes were to die for, watermelon salad was so refreshing, oysters and mussels were delectable and the plaice was so soft and well seasoned. I also think those were the best chips I've ever had! Will definitely be coming back to eat his food and recommending to others. Staff last night were also super friendly and really enjoyed the vibes of the place!

They let the queue build up, making you wait half an hour to get in when they're half full. What is up with the door policy? Edit: here three months later and it's the same story. Waiting for an hour and there's nobody inside. The bouncer was also incredibly rude to anyone that mentioned this to him, raising his voice. This is what it looks like inside after an hour+ wait

Basic corner pub. Appeared took be per friendly. I liked the diversity postings. Our first seat had leaky window so we moved. Descent tap selection. Bar tender seemed to be a friendly fellow and engaged in some meaningless banter. For a quick drink it did the job. Not sure if I would come back for a night of it.

Londoner who has been frequenting haggerston all her life... Never had a problem until tonight... Place really seems to have gone down hill with new bar staff... Shabby venue... Toilets absolute filth... Terrible cocktails... Asked five different servers behind the bar if they were making drinks and all said "No" despite serving others... All male and VERY rude staff who will shamelessly pretended to be the owner to avoid appraisals and complaints... In addition bar staff articulated clearly that they were more concerned with their enjoyment of the night "Stop killing my vibe" than actually serving paying customers!? Seriously whoever is managing this place should be ashamed of your staffs arrogant and enflamatory behaviour... In addition to this when a patron requested the manager your staff thought it was appropriate to laugh in their face and scream across the bar "Are you trying to make a complaint oh my days"... This behaviour and representation of your establishment is disgusting and would NEVER happen anywhere else in London!! Would love to know your bar mission statement... Is it to insult and upset your clientele and make them regret spending money at your establishment?? If so, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! Ps. The waitress serving food was fun, fast, hilerious and the only shining light of the entire place... She also distanced her self from bar staff... Saying she doesn't really know them as they are new... Sort...

I sat by the bar with my partner and moved a broken glass candle, as it was broken the outside glass was SUPER HOT, we both got burn and as we told the bar men manager, he was completely careless, took really long to offer cold water(as i asked almost crying for it) and no first aid kit was direct to us either worry to have a look how bad the burn was, I am in so much pain right now so is my partner from the burn. Instead of even carrying to help the “manager” served all the next costumers laughing and making fun of us saying that we touch the candle and didn’t expect to get burn. I worked years with the same candles and we touch the outside not the inside, neither way, we got hurt and no help was served! Very very disappointed and never coming back. Such a shame a place with the best musicians and careless bar service. Shame shame! This manager...

Bouncers attitude at that pub is something else! Told me I can't go in cos he doesn't like me.I mean I guess its proper brexit attitude taking over everywhere. They let my friends in but the manager said he trusts his bouncer even though I am actually really peaceful person and only reason I couldn't get in was because that bouncer doesn't like me.Yes I did have few drinks but that is why I was going to the pub in the first place. He should know how to deal with customers and not to create unnecessary agro.It was just about the power and proving the point. In the end I am happy I couldn't get in and I didn't spend a penny there and definitely won't go there in the future .And wound't recommend the venue! Too many amazing venues in London to spend your time with people who have attitude...
