Faulkners Fish & Chips — Restaurant in London

It's very rare that I would give a 1 star rating but I just had a take away and it was the worst fish and chips I've every had for a number of reasons. I had a large cod and my partner had a medium both were under size for the price. £6.00 for the medium and £7.50 for a large so wasn't cheap but I wouldn't of said my large was even a medium as it was very thin. On top of that the batter was really soggy so by the time you removed the soggy batter you ended up with a thin piece of fish that wasn't even nice and chunky, wasn't just mind both of our fish we ordered was the same. The chips weren't great either and not cheap at £2.75 for a large portion, not crispy but soggy again so very disappointing. The original people who started Faulkners had a great reputation for quality since then the company has been taken over once or twice and it's all gone down hill from there. I live very locally and thought I would give it another chance as i feel its good to support the local shops and restaurants, but I definitely won't be going back. Next time we feel like fish and chips I will drive over to the fish and chip shop on Hackney road as it's much better and...

We ordered a takeaway on Friday, I remember the beautiful food from many years ago so I was excited to enjoy a takeaway with my hubby.

We ordered scampi, large haddock and rock and 2 regular fries. My hubby picked up the order and asked if he could use the loo whilst the food was being prepared. The woman was hostile and refused. Fortunately there was a more pleasant male on duty and he intervened helpfully and apologised on behalf of his rude colleague. She eventually gave a grudging apology, but why be so unpleasant to a customer.

The food itself was good freshly cooked but the fish portions were small not large. We’ve never had such small portions. The scampi was particularly delicious a small portion of 6 which was ok as a starter. We enjoyed the chips but the size of the fish was disappointing and the batter was nicely crunchy but slightly too much.

We would have like to come and eat in but I wouldn’t risk being served by such an unpleasant person and I don’t know if she misunderstood the order but there is a big difference between...

Firstly!! Big shoutout to the owner and all the AMAZING staff here at Faulkners. I decided to celebrate my 30th birthday here with all my friends and family and honestly I am so glad I did. I was extremely pleased to know that this restaurant was wheelchair accessible as my sister is a wheelchair user and I found it very hard to find places with wheelchair access. She felt very comfortable throughout the evening and had so much fun too! I had no hassle organising everything. The owner was so kind to let me decorate using balloons and let me play music from my laptop into their sound system. We also did a bit of karaoke! My friends and family absolutely LOVED the food/drinks and thought it was very tasty and also VERY filling. I’m so glad I got to celebrate my birthday here at Faulkners with all my family & friends!
