My recent visit to The Lighthouse Battersea was nothing short of a nightmare. What was supposed to be an enjoyable dining experience turned into an evening of frustration and disappointment, with the service being the primary culprit.

To start, it took a staggering 30 minutes just to place my order. The restaurant wasn’t even particularly busy, which made the wait all the more baffling. When I finally managed to order, the waiter managed to take down the wrong items, an error I only discovered when I reviewed the bill at my table.

This meant I had to queue for an additional 20 minutes just to rectify the mistake, further prolonging an already drawn-out process. The ordeal didn’t end there. They needed to refund me for the incorrect item and charge me for the right one, which turned out to be an excruciatingly slow process. By the time they finally sorted it out, nearly half an hour had passed—and yet, the correct dish still hadn’t arrived.

At this point, my dining companions had long finished their meals, and I was left sitting there with nothing. When I went to the bar to inquire about the delay, the barmaid casually informed me that the order had never gone through and that they couldn’t find me to complete the transaction. The absurdity of this statement is beyond belief, considering I was sitting right beside the bar the entire time!

What’s worse, there was barely an apology offered, as if such appalling service was to be expected.

As for the food, once I finally did receive it, I wished I hadn’t bothered. The roast was utterly mediocre—bland, uninspired, and massively overpriced for what it was. Having read some of the other reviews after my visit, I can only agree that the food quality does not justify the high prices.

In summary, the service was horrendous, the food was average at best, and the overall experience was one I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I strongly advise against visiting The Lighthouse Battersea. Save your time, money, and patience—go...

The only reason this is not a 1 star is because of the pub manager who served us - actually really cares about this pub and his job.

But the experience this Saturday night was really bad. Made a reservation over autoanswering on the call, then hostess could not find our reservation. Took 10 minites to be seated at the table, but nobody was in front of us.

In total it took 35 minutes to just get the drinks. I understand that restaurants can get understaffed, this is normal. But the big mistake here is offering table service. They should have just said that we can order drinks at the bar, would have taken so much less time.

When we eventually got the drinks, the gentleman who brought them litterly said:

ā€œHere is your beer and whatever this is (aperol)ā€ It then turned out he was a bar back, which is fair enough. But why would anybody send a barback to serve? Again, just don’t offer table service if you are understaffed.

The food situation was not great either. Olives just did not arrive. Pie that husband ordered was cold inside šŸ™ˆMy chicken salad was good and big enough.

The cherry on top of this experience was a group of people that were so drunk they were litterly screaming 😱 Not just loud ( this is fine, its pub at the end of the day) but screaming like wild animals, which is over the board. There still should be some standards for behaviour in public places.

The pub is super beuatiful with top notch interior, but service and food are very bad. Just come here for drinks only and not in...

Overall a very confusing visit - even though we had called to get a table reservation there was no table reserved for us upon arrival and all staff seem very confused about everything (it also took about 5 minutes before someone even greeted us).

The food was very bland and...in fact, not good at all. The roasted potatoes were probably the worst I have ever had. Even got served better in school!

The service wasn't attentive at all and the vegan roast was a bit jelly-like? It had a weird texture. The table behind us sent their food back twice and then they requested to get the money back.

When we ordered the pudding - an apple crumble with custard. We were told they didn't have any custard. And then got told it wasn't vegan (there was no vegan puddings at all available). And then he came back out for a third time and said they actually didn't have any apple crumble left at all. We ordered a chocolate fondant which was not nice at all, definitely straight from the microwave and to be quite honest, maybe even from the shelf at Tesco.

On top of that, they didn't have any burgers left and the whole menu (which on their website - was apparently super vegan friendly - was anything but vegan friendly). Pretty weird options throughout and we were actually very close of just going elsewhere as the menu wasn't jumping at us in any shape or form.

All in all and put simply: we...

One of the worst experience ever! My last experience with Lighthouse is as follows: My 40s birthday,Ā  I book a table there at 4pm with the intention of spending there the whole day, when I booked there I explained that people would keep voming and going, so they knew this plan. At 7 o'clock without previous notification we were kicked out. The table was booked only until 7, but no one let us know previously. Most of the staff are lovely but the manager, James was extremely rud. I haven't felt as bad treated as that day many times in my live. This guy kept saying over and over that it was indicatedĀ on the confirmation email but you know what? There was no email!! The confirmation was by sms, see below and tell me where is written that the booking was only until 7! They did not say anything when we arrived and even with this, my complain is mainly for the horrible manners of the manager. Terrible! Rud, impolite, arrogant...sadly I will not come back.

Cosy pub to get amazing food and good choice of beers (including real ales) especially after exploring Battersea Park (1 min walk). Sparkling new roof terrace is looking amazing ready for spring. Staff are super friendly and on it. Water station to help yourself at the end of the bar. Food passes expectations, the Tarka Dahl is something you don't find in other City Club pubs but they should get in on it because it was delicious. I especially liked the inclusion of a "regulars zone" for regular customers to sit at the bar and encourage newcomers to chat to them. Great playlist. Board games are available but they also have a playstation!! Classic cocktails are the same as you would get in any other fancy cocktail bar in Central London. Highly recommended after a long day, chilling with your mates on a sunny one, or just for some much needed grub and a pint. Thanks for the hospitality James, Luke and Mary.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the food experience here was disappointing especially for the price. The calamari starter (Ā£10) looked and tasted like someone else’s leftovers. The presentation was careless and completely unappetising. The chicken main (Ā£18) was no better, it felt like we were dining in a country experiencing a shortage of chicken and vegetables. The veggies tasted like they came straight from a can, bland, cold, and plastic-like. The potatoes were undercooked and hard. Overall, it really seems like food isn’t their strong point. I cannot understand how they can claim to offer the best Sunday roast in Battersea. If a basic meal feels this uninspired, it makes you wonder what the standard is based on. Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re coming for the food. The team was great and it's a nice place to watch sports but if you visit it, avoid the food menu.
