The food was to an excellent standard, it was very tasty and of a good quality. The girl that served was very helpful and polite about our desserts and was lovely. The issues I did have were that the table I had asked specifically for in the corner was not reserved despite me reserving it online two days beforehand. I have real issues communicating in person and I wrote a note online to state about needing that quiet, corner space due to the fact I have autism and high levels of anxiety. When I arrived, albeit about ten to fifteen minutes late there was a group of people at the table I asked for and I would not approach as I find it hard to communicate in person. I tend to go non-verbal when I see a lot of people and find it hard to express myself. I even informed the restaurant via a voicemail message I would be a bit late but I had no response to this and I had left my number. This is the second time this has happened when I have asked for a specific table to be reserved. I phoned on numerous occasions but to no avail. This is really important for me as it would be for other people with autism as it would make a big difference to have a quiet corner. I appreciate that the service in the restaurant was very good and the staff were very polite and friendly and the food was to a very high standard but if the requests online and table bookings could be reviewed to ensure that people's needs are catered for it would be very good. Myself and my mum and friend felt the noise was overpowering where we were sitting and again this was difficult for me due to my sensory processing disorder associated with autism. If the music could be reduced this would really help too as it was hard to concentrate. I would definitely give the restaurant 5/5 for food quality as well as the friendly staff but the failure to accommodate someone with specific requirements and the loud music is why I gave 2/5 overall. I went there with 8 guests, one from America to enjoy a British pub ambience. The barman saw us and immediately was rude, racist and caused a scene as we sat down to order drinks. My younger son had literally moved a chair from a table next to us that was free but even that was a problem. This barman was truly racist, the 8 of us were from an Asian background and he had a problem with our group as soon as we entered claiming there was no space (but there was), that we couldn't grab a spare chair from anywhere, that we could not order food (it was 6.30pm) without just reason. I would never go back to this pub, I live locally and have always enjoyed this neighborhood especially for the friendly welcome in all the pubs I go into. Today's experience was demeaning, he shouted at us aggressively a number of times and was totallly racist in his delivery and humiliating for my guests and I. I would be more than happy to discuss this further if a manager there would like to understand about this issue today (Sunday 5th October around 6.30pm). It was appalling. I will ensure to let all my friends and family know not to frequent this racist pub.in the end we had no choice but to leave and enjoyed a positive experience at the Cricketers pub nearby who...

Just came home from a meal here much less than even average No Roasts available nor pies nor lamb shank as they had had a busy day which is good for them have had a roast before and was very nice and good value However today’s was probably the worst meal I’ve had Hot staters were both cold and my baked mini Camembert had spread all over the plate never had a baked Camembert do that before was strange because melted but cold Two signature hunters chicken, garlic bread cold, gammon very salty and my one the bacon was burnt was like eating charcoal I had to take the chicken and gammon out of the bowl and put on my plate to get it off the burnt bacon Why oh why would a chef burn the bacon and still put it on your plate disgusting Whole meal was a waste of money wish we hadn't bothered

Update: Thank you for your response we would of said at the time there was a problem but check back was done from a table away in a busy restaurant and rushed so felt awkward to do so However because we have had nice experiences previously we came for dinner Thursday evening and had steaks on the Thursday deal meal was pretty good so our review is now 4 stars We hope to book in for Sunday maybe this Sunday or if not available a Sunday soon and will update our...
