First time visit to see the band playing. The pub looked fine, with a good standard of decor, bar and tables. There's a pool table and lots of large TV screens to cover sporting events - on the night in question it happened to be World Cup football for a bit. The two little security guards are not really capable of dealing with anything more than an overturned chair, TBH; the band started playing and within 2 songs a couple of tall guys at the centre table in front of the band decided it would be a great point in the evening for one to climb on the shoulders of the other, who was sat down and not expecting it, so they both fell over, their chair fell over and they knocked our table full of drinks over. Luckily a friend who was sat down saw this unfolding and had the good sense to grab the drinks before the spill happened. A visibly inebriated lady was walking around filching any unguarded drinks on the bar. Another visibly inebriated guy got in the guitarist's face whilst he was playing and the playing stopped so he could be encouraged to step away and allow the musicians to play unmolested. In both cases, security watched on from their location near the doors without intervening. Quite raucous as a venue, lively and a good local crowd, though they were loud, even when no music was playing. Too few bar staff and service was incredibly slow, which was disappointing. Did not see any food on offer. If you like a lively pub on a Saturday night with nice drinks, reasonable staff, laughable security, but the possibility of live sport or music events, this is one of the places you may wish to consider.

Unfriendly to the point of being rude. The barmaid looked like she was chewing a wasp. No hello as I came in and no good bye as I left. She was happy to serve a regular before me despite me waiting longer. Sticky and dirty tables yet not busy. Fragments of weed stems on the dirty garden tables. Hand soap in the lady's loo smells like head lice treatment. Better off at the weather spoons a few doors up.

Under new management and I think they are going to bring new life and soul in to the pub. Very friendly and welcoming had a great evening in there. Loved the grafiti!

The Pawleyne Arms doesn't serve food, but the landlord explained that various street food operators would soon be cooking and serving from the garden. The staff were welcoming and engaging, and I was served within seconds. This is not the place for a first date but there was a great atmosphere, with lots of local enjoying each others company and watching the sports channel. Great experience, I felt like I belonged there, and I will visit again. Well done all the...

Awful. Truly awful. Visited for the first time today. Wanted to give it a try. Bar staff uninterested in serving, customers all sitting at the bar making it doubly difficult to get served. Felt like a clicky pub where you'd only get "service" if they knew you. Considering they have plenty of competition around I'm suprised. Walked out when it was clear you'd have to beg to be served. I shan't return. Don't bother...
