🚇Westbourne Park 🍺 £5.85 Amstel ❤️ A stylish and convivial Notting Hill Gastro. . The Prince Bonaparte sits proudly on the corner of Chepstow and Talbot Road on the edge of Notting Hill. The nearest Tube is Westbourne Park which is an eight minute walk away. . This pub was built 1850 and was originally called The Artesian. The name stems from “Artesian Place” which was renamed to Chepstow Road, date not known. . This is a good size bright and airy pub with an Art Deco feel. At the core of this elegant boozer is a horseshoe shaped servery which has an open kitchen on the right hand side. The bar area is laid out in a “J” shape. At the front are some poser tables, a sprawling banquette sofa and a ledge looking out through huge picture windows to the coming and going’s outside. On the right hand side are some comfy booths with pictures above of Prince Napoleon Bonaparte. At the rear is a dining area which has a chic and formal feel to it. . The beer line up was good and was craft centric, there was one cask ale on for the cultured drinker. I decided on a pint of Amstel, my pint was great and pleasingly under six quid. There is a modern seasonal food menu available here. The two Chefs in the kitchen were grafting away turning out plate after plate to the delight of the dining clientele, the food here did smell amazing. There are traditional pub grub options to choose from, Fish & Chips costs £17.50 and on a Sunday you can get a Chicken Roast for £19. . I arrived mid afternoon and the atmosphere was upbeat with a lively Jazz soundtrack in the background. The crowd was a mix of local well to-do’s plus tourists visiting the area. I was served by a very welcoming member of staff who was friendly and courteous. . The @bonapartew2 is a stylish pub which is far enough away from Portobello Road to enjoy a tranquil pint or bite to eat. This is an upmarket boozer which doesn't charge upmarket prices, for me this made the pub even more attractive. I really enjoyed my visit here, this is a great place to chill with friends or have a reflectful pint on your todd. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 13.05.23

Came here for Sunday roast with four friends. We had the two trio of roasts, which is meant to be shared for two people. We asked the server if it was a lot of food and if it made sense to order sides. The server assured us that we'd be able to finish the sides as well, so we ordered 3 sides. The meal was massive. Presentation wise it looked great, and the chicken, port and carrots very very delicious. The roasted beef was, however, bland and tough. The potatoes were alright, though my friends were disappointed with their lack of crispiness. I found the mac and cheese bland, though my friends did enjoy it. Despite the assurance from our server, we did not come close to finishing the meal. We definitely should not have ordered sides. Otherwise perhaps only one trio of roasts, and then some more sides. They did not have a great selection of beers. I was allowed to taste their beers, but did not find any that were more than okay. The interior was very nice, and one of my friends found the chairs extremely comfortable.

I recently visited The Prince Bonaparte in Notting Hill, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish prepared to perfection. From the seasonal and sustainable produce to the expertly cooked meals, everything was simply outstanding. I tried a scotch egg for the first time, and it was unbelievable! A special shoutout to the amazing manager, Jack, who made our visit truly memorable. His warm hospitality and attentiveness added a personal touch that made our time there even more enjoyable. Jack also poured the perfect pint of Guinness, which was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. The vibes inside were perfect, extremely clean and well designed. It has been recently renovated, but still holds true to the charm of an upscale London pub. If you’re in London, The Prince Bonaparte is a must-visit for its delicious food and top-notch service. Highly recommended!

A really uncomfortable and disappointing experience considering how many positive reviews this place has.

They sat our party of 3 at a table that was essentially blocking the disabled toilet that's also used as a baby changing facility. The table was also extremely close to the table behind it which was for a large group. When I explained the issue and asked for a different table they said they had nothing available but would move us as soon as they could which turned out to be as soon as our food came out. We ended up choosing to stay put because we didn't want our food to get cold as we would have ended up needing to move to the other side of the pub.

We were disturbed multiple times by people needing to change their babies meaning we needed to get up and move the chair so they could get in and out. Putting a table blocking a facility for families when you're advertising as a family friendly place is just ridiculous, blocking a disabled access toilet is discriminatory and just plain greedy.

The roast beef came out pink-grey and had a lot of sinew so we ended up exchanging it for the roast pork which was more fat than meat. The burger was also underwhelming for the money.

Ultimately, they took our main meals off the bill but frankly, I have no intention of going back - the attitude and atmosphere of the business...

Visited with a family group of six on a Saturday lunch. Friendly, responsive service aside from an initial frosty welcome by one member of the bar staff. To the food then. My Chicken Kiev was presented with a burnt bread crumb coating and minimal central filling, the essential ingredient. A rather sorry excuse for such a dish. Likewise, the fries were overcooked and just this side of palatable. How is it possible to go so astray with what is a simple dish ? The salads received slightly more approval by our party although the reception of the fish and chips was not exactly overwhelming. Maybe on a Saturday lunch, the usual chef is not on duty but something was not right, reflected in the totally empty restaurant area. Those meals which required serious cooking were decidely poor. The one exception was my partner's curry which was described as just 'good' and let's say, not more than that (she did say we may have been better booking at a restaurant elsewhere). Will we return ? This foodist will definitely give this so-called gastropub a miss in the future. My recommendation to others seeking Saturday lunch, avoid. Judging by the empty restaurant they already have made...
