DO NOT ORDER THE GLUTEN-FREE PIZZA!! My husband and I went for pizza at Franco Manca, since I really like their pizzas. I saw that they have recently started doing gluten-free bases. My husband is gluten sensitive to tries to keep his intake of it to a minimum. I made the assumption that since Franco Manca only serves pizza, that they must have found a decent way to make the base. Wrong! The pizza arrived looking like something fabricated out of styrafoam, with only a small smattering of toppings. To put it in context, I paid £1.30 for the extra capers, and only 7 turned up on the pizza. When my husband refused to eat the pizza that arrived, the waitress informed us that they don’t actually make the gluten free pizza fresh in store. It is brought in, pre-made. Not really what we were expecting from Franco Manca who have, until now, been one of my favourite pizza chains. Sad times.

We had a great friends&family Christmas party(35 people in total) in the downstairs room and it was fantastic! More than enough room for kids entertainment and staff were super kind and accommodating. Pizza was fantastic as usual, good wine, great coffee. We brought our own bakery ordered cake which was kindly kept for us in the fridge. Would absolutely recommend it for a great private party, kids loved it, adults wished they were kids! We all had the most amazing time and we’re already planning our next party! A big thank you from all of us for putting up with all our happy dancing/singing/screaming kids and the little temporary happy chaos we created! 😍😍😍

Pizza is amazing here, but this time customer service was the worst we ever had. Not welcoming at all and we had to wait not lying more than an hour to get to pay the pizza. The girl that served our table left to break and smoke outside even tho we asked for the bill before. All the other staff is just talking and eating so none is taking care of our table, so we had to wait the girl finish her break. She came in and went straight to make chat with the colleges, so we had to ask one more time, even though we have no food cleaned table and we just sitting there is common sense people want to leave or in any case order something else.

Saturday 9th Nov. We was a medium to large booking (10 people) for a baby shower. All the food (except the chocolate cake, which was soooo dry) was fantastic. The chefs there are amazing 👏 Sadly the service was poor to medium. There was a few waiting staff that was fantastic, very polite and friendly. But one person was just quite rude throughout, I'm guessing she was the manager as she was in orange and everyone else was in black. You could tell she wasn't happy that we was there. I will admit on our end we was there longer than expected. I booked for 4pm but there was traffic issues and people struggled to park so the whole party was not there till 5pm. They arrived bit by bit though I was there from 3.40pm. So I'm guessing that may be the reason she was annoyed with us. However, we would of been out faster had they been more attentive. Only once did someone come to us to ask if we would like anything, that's when we ordered sharing platters and drinks. The rest of the time we had to call people over to order our mains, more drinks, to get the tabled cleared, twice, and to order dessert. The manager, I'm guessing, was rude a few times to different people at the party, so when it came to paying a few people didn't want to pay the gratitude, mainly because of the manager. When one of the ladies asked for it to be removed she started to be argumentative towards her. Some of us did pay the gratitude but that was for the amazing chefs, and the few staff members that was great. Sorry for the very long review, but as someone that has worked in this industry for nearly 20 years I know how important it is you get full detailed reviews so we can make changes and be better.

Praise to the chefs. The male waiter. A younge female waiter wearing tanned top with longer light brown hair. And a younge black female waiter your service was lovely when you was at our...

I went there with my friend as we both love Franco Manca’s sourdough pizza, and the food was fantastic as usual (although I wish that they would slice it as we basically had to cut it up with our knives and forks ourselves lol) but the service was really where it went wrong. Our server/waitress was lovely, but the woman who greeted us was incredibly rude. For context, I’m an ambulant wheelchair user and ,as the restaurant was quite cramped, I got out of my chair to walk to our table in the back, which was fine. But my mother, and carer, who had dropped us off and pushed me in my chair to the door was met with an incredibly hostile and rude woman trying to shoo her out and telling her that she could not come in, whilst she was trying to bring my folded wheelchair to me to store by my table. In the end, my mother managed to get the chair to me after repeatedly telling the woman that she was my mother and was just trying to give me my chair (whilst being loudly talked over) and the pizza was great as usual, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, when I tried to call up recently to make another reservation, I got the same woman on the phone who interrupted me mid sentence as I was asking if there were any tables free at a certain time, saying “Just go online” in a very rude way and ended the conversation. I couldn’t get a word out on the phone, she just loudly talked over me. And if going online really is the only way to book, then what would happen if someone with accessibility needs who couldn’t use the website called up to make a reservation and was met with that hostility? I love the pizza at Franco Manca, I’m going with my family to an another location tonight, but I won’t be going to Franco Manca Westbourne...

UPDATE - 1 star! Even though the Franco Manca social people have replied to this review they've never reached out to me even though I did email them..

Love Franco Manca, but NOT this branch!

The restaurant was full (inside) when arrived. We were asked to wait 5-10 minutes so we sat outside and ask two different waiters (the first one was “busy”) to bring us coffees if that’s okay. After 5 minutes we were told we can’t have coffees whilst we wait without first having a table inside... okay. Inside the waiter took our order twice. Our drinks, Aperol Spritz, were made with the Negroni mix instead of Aperol. We told the waiter who then brought a laminated sheet of paper for us to show what ingredients go inside each of their cocktails... we said that’s great but the drinks were made incorrectly and so he left. After a few minutes a second waiter who was taking orders from the table next to us started a chat about the Aperols instead of focusing on his customers. He was quite arrogant and his ignorance implied that he doesn’t understand our language whereas his is at fault.

In the end the head waiter came and smelled in the drinks and realised they did wrong and eventually brought us the correct drinks.

Finally the table next to us was cleared before ours even though we finished at least 10 minutes before them. We were being ignored, I’m guessing, as a punishment for our terrible behaviour.

We paid at the front the waiter didn’t look at us or say goodbye. It’s just sad. We eat at Franco Manca for years and go at least once a week to the Putney or Belize Park branch. I always assumed that the people, food and service is as amazing everywhere else. It’s not....
