I always write reviews so this is not one just to complain. Let’s start with the food 10/10 if not more the chef done an amazing job not one thing I would complain about. Had the beef roast and the chicken roast along side the cauliflower cheese all was absolutely delicious. The service when we first arrived was fine the man came up asked if we wanted drinks as we were not ready he and kept a look out and came back took our order very polite the food came nice and quick piping hot. If someone had come during the meal as they usually do in hospitality to ask if everything was ok then the problems would not have occurred we had no condiments had to leave our meal to get these, we then had to go to get the extra gravy we had asked for as it didn’t arrive which took ages, we then could not find anyone to pay the bill. Once we did we then waited and nobody came back so had to ask for the card machine. We then asked to remove the service charge as we would have liked to give to the chef and the original man that helped us as everything else we did for ourselves they said we could not do this and the woman became very hostile toned at this point she started to come across annoyed and was speaking unprofessionally as we wanted to choose who should receive the tip. Regardless of her personal opinion we have every right to remove any service charge it’s not that we didn’t want to give (we always leave a tip everywhere we dine as I used to work hospitality and understand the meaning of this) it’s just to whom it should go to (we had not seen this woman once during our 2 and a half hour time there). Once she had gone to remove the charge she never returned looking in she was looking over to us and speaking to another member of staff (I would love to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation lol) again leaving us to go and find someone to pay the bill still she was very hostile in attitude even on paying. It was not exceptionally busy just a standard Sunday at the roundhouse. I usually have fine experiences here but this week we were quite disappointed. BUT AGAIN thank u to the chef and our first man helper you both did an...
Read moreWe were excited to go to the Roundhouse for Sunday lunch as we'd heard good things and read some great reviews. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We all had either the roast beef or pork belly, the pork belly being the better choice. It was dry, unimpressive and mediocre at best. Although the staff were friendly, the service was very slow and we had to continually ask the waitress/waiter to come over. We ordered a cheese board which supposedly came with 3 types of cheese, one of which they missed off and the cheddar was definitely not of the standard that should be on a £9 cheese board. Feeling let down by the experience overall as we usually love having a drink here and expected the well recommended Sunday lunch to be miles better. We won't be coming back for Sunday lunch but perhaps their standard lunch menu...
Read moreI chose this pub because of its ratings, which were slightly higher than those of other pubs in the area. Unfortunately, I’m not sure why. The food was very good, but there were some drawbacks, such as a poor cut for my ordered steak that was also overdone. They were out of a lot of items, but that was because they were closing in a week for remodeling. It’s a good thing they were remodeling because the place could use a face-lift. The staff was nice but forgot some important things, like a steak knife and plates for the appetizer. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I don’t think it was worth the extra walk compared to the pubs that were closer to me. However, I think the place has some real potential once the...
