Ordered the chicken strips and so did the people I came with. One plate came out with 8 pieces, the other with 5 & mine with 2. The lack of consistency and ability to count led to me pointing out the fact I had a only two pathetic pieces of chicken on my plate with a small portion of chips. The staff member apologised and took my plate and brought I back with 3, and said they were cooking some more chicken and he'll bring it out asap.

When the chicken finally came out, he slid 3 more pieces on to my plate. Cool.

It was so cool in fact, that the chicken he slid on to the plate was ICE COLD. Like, not even cooked. What the hell? They'd obviously rushed the defrosting/cooking of the chicken so much to try and make up for the lack of mathematical skills they had, and shooting themselves in the foot, again.

At this point, my appetite was long gone. My appetite ran to the horizon and left me to deal with the 2 ice blocks left on my plate.

I said to a lady that worked there about it, and she apologised and said she would cook some more for me, and just walked off. The rudeness shocked me, but I understood because they must get alot of complaints there. When she came back I said I didn't actually want anymore chicken, because I'm not a savage. She said "okay, fair enough" and walked off before I even had the chance to complain.

Top marks for avoiding your arsey customers. But at the end of the day, your job is based around good customer service and just being a decent human really isn't that hard.

All in all, I'll never be returning to this place, as I would like to maintain my healthiness, and I would rather not have to question if my food is cooked properly or not again.

I visited The Sovereign of the Seas pub in Petts Wood today/ July 10, 2025 and ordered the breakfast meal with 4 pancakes, maple-cured bacon, and maple-flavoured syrup. We chose to dine in.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the meal. The pancakes were a little cold, like they had just been warmed up in the microwave. They were also stiff and quite hard to chew. On top of that, the way the food was presented on the plate didn’t look nice at all. It looked so basic and without any effort of presentation at least which made it quite unpleasant to look at. There also wasn’t enough bacon. I don’t think I would be ordering this again and I wouldn’t recommend this either.

I do want to say the staff by the cashier/bar was friendly , which we appreciate. But sadly, the pancakes didn’t meet the standard we’ve come to expect from this pub. We are regulars and we’ve always enjoyed their Full English breakfast, especially the Freedom breakfast. That’s why today’s experience was disappointing.

Unlimited coffee - very good as always. Clean tables and chairs.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality and presentation...

Myself together with my partner visited The Sovereign of the Seas Wetherspoon in Petts Wood today and overall had a good experience, but with a small issue. I ordered a Jacket Potato with Chili con Carne and a Large Onion Rings portion. The food was enjoyable, but I noticed that the large onion rings, which should have had 12 pieces, only came with 10.

I brought this up with the staff, and to their credit, they quickly rectified the mistake by adding the missing two onion rings. While I appreciate their prompt response, it was disappointing that the order was incorrect in the first place. If I hadn’t counted, I wouldn’t have realized I didn’t get what I paid for.

That said, the staff were polite and friendly, which made the experience more pleasant. Overall, the visit was mostly positive, but attention to detail is important, especially when it comes to portion sizes. I’d still return, but I’ll definitely be checking my...
