🚇 Vauxhall 🍺 £5.90 Staropramen ❤️ A fantastic traditional Lambeth pub. . The Windmill pub is located on Lambeth High Street which is just a stone’s throw away from Lambeth bridge. The nearest tube is Vauxhall which is a ten minute walk away. Lambeth High Street was once a bustling thoroughfare with shops and retailers selling goods and services, today there are no shops left on this High Street. . There has been a pub on this site since the late 18th century. The current building was built in 1880. . The decor here is traditional and feels that it hasn’t changed for many years. That said, the place is immaculate and the fixtures and fittings look new but new thirty years ago. The seating is a mixture of poser tables, low lever seating and comfy leather winged chairs. This pub’s traditional credentials are rubber stamped by the red carpet, pool table and dart board. . The beer choice is diverse and has a pretty strong lineup including four real ales. I had a pint of Staropramen, my pint was great and just under average price. The food menu is all about homemade pizza, most pizzas cost around £11. . The atmosphere here is welcoming, homely, this pub is easy to settle in to. I visited on a Friday lunchtime and the pub was fairly busy. There were a few suits, a group of American ladies enjoying the pizza and a few day trippers. The service here was first class, the chap who served me was down to earth and very personable. . The @the_windmill_pub_lambeth is only open Monday to Friday and currently closed until the 11th January. This is a superb pub and can’t recommend a visit here highly enough. Great beer, hearty food and a pleasant ambiance, get this pub on your radar for 2023, you’ll love it. . ℹ️ Info correct on...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend visited this pub on a few occasions while we were on our first ever visit to London.
We were staying just around the corner, and we spotted the advertisement board on the junction for Albert Embankment, so we decided to give The Windmill Pub a try, and we were so glad we did.
The young lady (don't know her name) was so friendly, and is a credit to the pub. Couple of occasions the pub was busy, but despite this we got our food very quickly.
The quality and the amount of food, was excellent. Good pub grub at a good price (compared to other food places in London).
I'm so glad we found The Windmill Pub, as it saved us a fortune, compared to eating at our hotel, and was literally a stones throw from our hotel to.
We are planning on visiting London again this year (as we thoroughly enjoyed it last time) and needless to say, we will be eating out in The Windmill Pub again when we visit later in the year.
To sum up: If you want good quality pub grub at a reasonable price, then this place should be on the top...
Read moreNot a great pub to be honest. The location is not great in my opinion and being next to a building that has all windows covered in paper with a blocked entrance and a lot of mess flying around on the steeet makes you almost miss the pub entrance. The service is ok... but not great as with other pubs. We waited for almost 10 minutes at the bar for the bartender to so her things before she could serve us and there was nobody else in front. I did not get the friendly bartender vibes that you usually get in other pubs. Also you pay upfront which is a bit different than what I have been used to. We had 2 beers and some nachos and because we ordered them separately we basically made 3 payments. Also their Pale Ale beer is dissapointing. They also don't serve any burgers, so if that's your thing than it's not the place for you. All in all I guess it is ok if you don't have other options, but there are better choices...
