Tiny plates with average tastes, nothing at all special! Last night’s longhorn beef was so chewy and tasteless, I just couldn’t believe how they can serve that as a main, after a first plate of one beetroot! Pretending to be a Michelin star establishment with their portion sizes and prices but taste is not there, cheeky.

Tiny room, the service person was loud, over confident, singing while moving around erratically and annoying.

I couldn’t even understand if they can cook at the premises or they bring them over pre-cooked as their kitchen doesn’t have anything but a mini oven… Seemed to be food was being warmed up rather than cooked at the premises, not even sure if they can call themselves a restaurant?

Ridiculously over priced average wines served on terribly stained, old and dirty tables pretending to be cool.

Gravy sauce was all salt, ginger pudding was all sugar, horrible dining experience with warmed up ordinary food, never again and...

It's a pay before you go system as you do a concert ticket. Currently £50 a head on a Thursday night.

Cosy room with 20 people capacity and 2 friendly staff and 1 chef in view in the Kitchen. All a bit of a squeeze and adds to the feeling that you are going round to a friend's for dinner.

Love the concept of a set menu with 1 meat dish. But with the limitations of the tiny kitchen and just 1 chef this is NOT a tasting menu and is understandably limited as a result.

Everything was cooked well but nothing stood out and was generally underwhelming. It's definitely on the pricey side and even though the menu changes every 3 weeks according to the waitress, I'm not...

This was the most special dining experience I have ever had. Me and my partner came here the weekend before Christmas and every moment for us was perfect. Our host was so attentive and made sure the whole room was well looked after. Every course from the fresh baked sourdough to the poached pear pudding was perfectly cooked, amazingly balanced and beautifully presented.

We spoke briefly after with the owners and they were just as lovely as the evening itself! I love their way of running the restaurant that means there is little food waste and are able to cook seasonally. I couldn’t recommend coming here more and we will be...

Through The Woods is a top notch local restaurant with exceptional food. A set menu of locally sourced where possible and seasonal cuisine takes the grind out choosing what to have (you can see the menu when you book). And there’s never been a miss. The chef who uses the restaurant as a delightful sand box explores flavours and textures with extreme confidence and humour. It’s only small so nearly always sold out. So you should get yourself on the mailing list and book as soon as dates are released. And the service is always charming and efficient. Couldn’t fault.
