It’s a strange one, if you’ve been to a proper steakhouse then don’t come here if you’ve never been to a steakhouse then you’d get away with thinking this place is decent, the tables and chairs are very dated and worn down and in need of replacement, the staff are caring and attentive but it’s clear they have had no real training as such and are just getting by but I can’t fault them for that.
Drinks come in cans with no glasses which threw me off but they were cold and very reasonably priced.
The starters were huge, overly large portions for a starter but very basic almost as if you could cook it yourself at home very easily, For example the ‘poutine’ was simply cheesy chips with what tasted like ah bisto gravy over the top rather than traditional poutine. The nachos likewise just loads of melted cheese and a shop bought salsa, something you can make at home with ease.
The mains were again very good value I can’t fault them on value, but again the order of a 14oz ribeye, you’d expect one piece of steak instead you get two thin steaks, I understand the thin cuts are likely cheaper and faster to cook but again when you go to a steak house you expect a proper cut so it can be cooked how you want, the fact the pieces are so thin means you’ve no chance of you like your steak rare like myself, they are also reasonable bland but like I said if you’ve never been to a steakhouse before you’d be ok with thinking this is decent enough, but again it just felt like you could make it easily at home and didn’t have that wow factor you get with other steakhouses, the sides were mediocre the chips are frozen chips and not homemade the pepper sauce was such a small pot.
After this we decided we’d seen enough and skipped trying dessert, we then asked for the bill and was once again thrown off as you have to come up to the till to pay again making the experience feel more of a fast food joint rather than a restaurant, and obviously there cash only policy is annoying this day and age but I suppose for “tax” purposes it’s not a bad idea if you can get away with it, one nice touch was the staff clearly weren’t used to getting tips so they seemed grateful.
In conclusion there’s nothing as such really really wrong with the place it just need a makeover, training for staff and slightly better food the atmosphere was good and the staff friendly, would I go back again? maybe to try it in a years time to see if anything’s changed or if I was in the area and need a quick cheap bite to eat, would I bring family and friends or a date? Probably not can find other more impressive places nearby, but it wasn’t the worst so...
Read moreWow, what can I say about this place. If I could give this place a 0 rating even that would be generous . The customer service is atrocious, the tables are sticky, they are stingy with serviettes when you are literally having sticky wings, out of the 5 individuals that went here we literally received two serviettes, even when we asked for more a normal server would bring a few, but this server of ours asks us “how many pieces would you like” as if there is a shortage of serviettes. Then came the ordering fiasco, we ordered 1 regular coleslaw and 1 large coleslaw, when questioning the waiter he decided to take back one quarter eaten coleslaw in exchange for a large one, which was fine, but then he comes back and give the quarter eaten one back and gives us another regular on top, which was a bit weird, as if they haven’t been trained to deal with returns. Then came the most annoying part of our meal, I ordered the PORTERHOUSE STEAK, upon arrival I immediately questioned the steak as it doesn’t look like a porterhouse as I’ve been eating these for many years now, upon questioning this the manager has the audacity to say “I’ve been running a steakhouse for 5 years I would know” I simply acknowledged that it could’ve been my mistake BUT THEN... we realised that there had been a mix up and that one of my brothers had gotten my porterhouse on his sizzler and I had indeed been given a T-Bone, when questioning the manager again he still was being persistent that my steak (The more expensive one) was actually porterhouse. I have attached a photo, the one at the top (which I received) and below it on the right look the same (TBONE) the one on the left is a PORTERHOUSE - you guys be the judge on which one looks correct. Then came the pasta, because I didn’t order a sizzler you can tell the pasta has been microwaved as the middle was cold but the top was piping hot, then the Rice, I seriously don’t understand how people can get the simplest dishes wrong, I am absolutely disappointed with this branch, THEN THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE they didn’t have any change in their tills so instead of letting us of 36p they made us fish for the change, looking back it would’ve been a funny story if we requested the 4p change from the 40p we gave them. This place has seriously gone down ever since the owners have become money hungry. Cash is King but not at the expense of customer service, that’s literally all they care about, I pray that this place sorts out there issues quick because for the meantime I will boycott this place. This review will be forwarded on to all individuals who where dining with...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment after my recent experience with your restaurant. I ordered food through Uber Eats, eager to enjoy a meal with my family, only to find that half of my order was missing.
Upon calling the restaurant's landline, I spoke with someone named Humza, who was clearly multitasking while driving, as I could hear the indicator going off in the background. I explained that I had placed an order for two meals totaling nearly £50 and that the order was incomplete. Instead of addressing my concern appropriately, Humza, who I believe is either the manager or owner, offered me “free rice” for my next visit………Seriously!!!!
I expressed my desire to receive the complete meal I had already paid for, but his response was simply not acceptable. Offering me something free for an order that I had already purchased is not a solution.
Humza then said “what do you want that will make your heart happy” and I simple asked for my meal to be replaced and for the incomplete items to be pick up as that what I paid and waited for.
His response was “that is not something I could do……”
This is not the first time I've encountered dissatisfied customers at your establishment. It seems that the owner (whether it's Humza or someone else) has a tendency to dismiss customer complaints and argue rather than resolve issues.
I gave this restaurant one star, which is already more than it deserves. Unfortunately, I had no option to rate it lower. The quality of food is inconsistent; they can't seem to figure out the proper cooking temperature for meat, resulting in either undercooked or overcooked dishes.
I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, as I believe in sharing my personal experience, but it’s hard to ignore the multitude of others who have reported similar service failures.
I am utterly disappointed with Humza’s handling of my situation. He needs to either improve his customer service skills or hire someone who can professionally manage customer complaints. A little courtesy goes a long way!
My evening was ruined, and I ended up having to order another meal from a different restaurant, which meant that half my family had to eat alone. This experience was completely unacceptable, and I although the attitude of the owners of this establishment won’t change I find it my responsibility to warn others of my and experience of others so they are cautious about...
