Tried the vegan pad Thai which was nice 8/10. The orange colour sauce was kinda unique. Also tried the vegan drunken noodles but it was nothing like the drunken noodles I enjoy at Rosa’s Thai chain. This was not very Thai but closer to Japanese given that the noodles are a Japanese type & likely soy sauce based sauce. To be fair, it does state Udon noodles on the menu, but still it’s the kind of dish you might expect at Wagamamas rather than a Thai restaurant 😅 6.5/10. Was fun to try anyway Still, I enjoyed the pad Thai and it’s great to see such a large vegan menu section with many options! 🌱☺️ Hope to go back to try the rice based dishes 🍚

Our dinner at Torthai was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the warm and inviting ambiance made it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The service was impeccable, with the staff making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was incredible—each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and full of authentic Thai spices. The flavors were vibrant, and the balance of sweet, sour, and savory was spot on. Torthai is definitely a hidden gem for anyone craving fresh, delicious Thai food. Highly recommend it!

I feel a little bit bad to give this place so few stars for the food as the service was excellent. The serving staffs were smiley and lovely and they definitely deserve 5 stars. However the Thai food was only average. Some spicy calamari pieces were very chewy. Papaya salad had more grated carrots than raw papaya. Three flavours fish had 4 pieces of fish only. The chicken drunken noodles (I asked to swap beef for chicken) was tasty and I quite enjoyed the fish cakes. Reasonably priced at about £70 for 5 dishes, rich, and drinks.

What was once a family favourite and go to Thai restaurant, is now a no go zone! After the service we received on Monday evening we will not be returning again. We were seated and ordered a lot of starters including the calamari which we have had many times before with no issues. On Monday however it was very tough and extremely rubbery. We mentioned this to the waiter who just said 'this is how we make it'. We mentioned how we have never had an issue with it before. He then took the plate to the back where he returned and said that if we wanted a new plate of calamari we would be charged for another portion alternatively we can have the original plate back. We were shocked as this has never happened before. We did express this to him and he didn't have an answer for us and we asked to speak to the manager who was conveniently away. Then his female colleague came to our table and immediately had a defencive tome. She would keep interrupting us when we were explaining the situation. She then said that if we wanted to change the plate there was no additional charge which is what went against what the first waiter had said. We then asked to change it but she said 'well you've eaten it now though' when it wasn't it was just a bite. We also questioned why she didn't approach us when the first waiter came to her with the issue and she said 'because you didn't ask' which we did as we had asked to speak to the manager in the first instant. She continued to interrupt us in an aggressive manner and we said 'well we should just leave if this is the service' to which she responded 'who told you to come here?'. We then left as we have never received such rude service over something something like this. The first waiter clearly didn't know the protocol and the female waiter had an attitude i'd never seen in the hospitality/ food...

Hey guys! PLEASE DO NOT DINE HERE. I have sent them an email and no reply. Here is my extremely disappointing experience:

We ordered from you via Deliveroo last night, and unfortunately, it was the worst Thai food we’ve ever had.

• Pad Thai – This was shockingly bad. Overly sweet, strangely yellow, and completely unauthentic. As a long-time Pad Thai lover, I can confidently say this was the worst I’ve ever had. We couldn’t even finish it.

• Spicy Aubergine – This was an insult. Boiled vegetables with a bit of oil and salt do not make a “Spicy Aubergine” dish. Charging £10.95 for this is outrageous. I threw the entire box away—it was completely inedible.

• Chicken Satay – Dry as a mummy in a museum. It was like eating paper.

• Massaman Chicken – Giant chunks of chicken dumped into a curry with unpeeled potatoes? The potatoes were completely bland, and the whole dish was a joke. It was clear the cook had no sense of proper Thai cooking.

• Vegan Thai Iced Tea – If sugar syrup mixed with milk qualifies as Thai Iced Tea, then sure. But in reality, this was nothing like the real thing.

If you, as the owner, don’t have a passion for Thai cuisine, I strongly suggest hiring someone who does. Customers are not fools, and serving food of this poor quality is unacceptable.

As a huge lover of Thai food, I found this meal not just inauthentic but also lacking even the most basic culinary skill. I sincerely hope you start taking your customers seriously and improve your standards because this was a truly...

I've been coming here for years & I tend to order pickup or delivery more often than eating in, but I do eat in from time to time. Something has changed for the worse, they used to be great with very authentic Thai food but lately everything tastes bad. Last night we picked up food, it was all terrible & the last 2 times we got delivery it was also awful. Too much salt, incorrect flavours - did they sell the business & the new owners cook awful food or did they get a new chef that is awful? Last night we had Fish Cakes that were the most rubbery & tough I've ever had in the world! Very salty too. The Duck Rolls were not done properly, reminded me of a Chinese style spring roll instead of a Thai version which is very different. Penang Curry was watery & flavourless while it should be thick & creamy with coconut cream but it definitely wasn't. Also even the rice was short grain which is typically Chinese - this restaurant never used to use short grain for their meals. The contents of the curry was meager, very few vegetables. Lastly the Tamarind Duck is usually a stir fry, this time it came out roasted & covered in deep fried crispy onions, which made the flavour just yuck. I see a lot of reviews saying they won't return & I'm one...
