Had the misfortune of a visit to the Urban Oasis. I should have heeded the red flags when I attempted to book a table and was told “booking was only available for friends and family of the owners.” Nevertheless, not one to be swayed easily, I ultimately persevered and turned up only to find a complete desert bereft of staff and beer. Queues as far as the eye can see, ostensibly due to limited bar staff, but that alone cannot excuse the paucity of alcohol. The productivity of the staff they had managed to collect from their nearest squat or UC line was severely lacking; this, and their beanie hat and indoor sunglasses, can only be attributed to being up to the gills in spice. Also the drink service at the main bar is possibly the most disorganised I have ever seen in my life. To give the manager some credit he did try to walk around the queue giving out free cans of drink which was definitely a nice gesture but I was stood in that queue for such a long time which just did not move.

Read moreUnfortunately this place is really disappointing. The service is frustratingly slow. Often the cans and bottles of drink are warm (due to poor planning of fridge stocking). The music is ridiculously loud - so much so it’s uncomfortable to sit near the bar. They also have a weird thing where they sometimes have 2 things playing at once (for example ABBA The Movie and music blaring over the speakers at the same time). The toilets are also often dirty.
