The food and lager were good. Burger and bun a little burnt but other good. Unfortunately the manager ruined our evening. We met in there for my boyfriend's birthday drinks before we went on a nearby zombie experience. There were 12 of us by the end but people trickled in and the last few were only in for one quick beer. The pub wasn't full, there were several tables free. I think in this ladies' head maybe she wants it to be a restaurant rather than a pub, otherwise I simply don't understand! So when the first 2 people arrived she ran over and screamed at them for moving a little table a few inches closer to the big one they were sitting on and said they must not do that. She then said they could only have the table if they were eating, which luckily they were. Gradually more people turned up and we asked to move the table closer again. She very reluctantly agreed. Then we moved one chair from another table and she went crazy! I did end up telling her she wasn't treating her customers very well and this set her off, threatening to make us leave, saying we should have booked etc etc (only half of us ate and at different times so the kitchen was hardly overwhelmed and pub still not full ). She shouted all this over my poor friend who was attempting to eat her dinner. We had spent a lot of money in there (it really isn't cheap!) and felt that she wasn't at all fair. After the zombie experience we went to the Blind beggar across the road for several more drinks each and they were lovely. Much more relaxed atmosphere. Go there instead! The White Hart reminded me of being in a very anal school friend's house where you must remove your shoes and keep your elbows off the table. The manageress was the neurotic housewife...I've worked in seveal pubs in my time and always went the extra mile to accommodate them not...

The nearest tube is Whitechapel which is a five minute walk away down bustling Whitechapel Road. . There has been a pub on this corner plot in the East End since 1750, It was rebuilt in its present form in around 1900 and is a striking building with a cupola high above the corner door. . This pub has seen many refurbishments over the years, the most controversial was in the 1990’s when all the original etched glass and mirror partitions were removed and the layout changed to one large open plan bar. . The current decor is bright and airy and makes for a cheerful environment. The stand out feature has to be the decorative columns the stand proudly down the centre of the bar. . The beer choice is fantastic, you’ll find local London brews plus imported classics such as Paulaner. I kept it local and had the London Pilsner, my pint was great and reasonably priced at £5.20. The food menu is diverse, there are banging burgers and more traditional dishes like beef, mushroom and Guinness pie. This pub serves hearty roasts on a Sunday. . I visited here with my Son and Daughter on a hot Saturday afternoon back in August. The crowd was a mix of young and old, the majority of punters were sitting on the benches at the front of the pub lapping up the summer sunshine. There is a welcoming feel here and the staff were pleasant. . I asked my Son and Daughter what they thought of the @whitehart_whitechapel . My Son liked the vibe and the beer choice and my Daughter loved the decor, I couldn’t agree more. This is a modern day East End pub with a superb offering, get this pub on your to do list 🍻. . ℹ️ Info correct on...
Read moreI don't usually leave reviews, but I can't stand by and let people give the wrong impression of this place. I've lived locally for twelve years and I can safely say this is one of the best pubs for miles in this area. The owner has gone all guns blazing to change this place from a average locals sports bar to what it is now. It's a place that caters for everybody. If you want a private quiet night you can do it here,or if you want a good laugh and a drink meeting people in a friendly atmosphere you can do that too...intimate meal?it's covered..and it's been no mean feat that has required a lot of confidence, money and drive on behalf of the owner and his team to get it there. Ok sometimes you might not get the service you want from one particular person but if the people on here are going to let that ruin their entire evening when there is so much on offer here then maybe they should have stayed home rather than leave poor ratings for this pub. 99.9% of the time they get it right here and they do it well...having run pubs in this area myself I can tell you they have always done well having some of the friendliest staff and managers in the area. That's why I've been a faithful regular in this place for a decade. If you have a bad night here then it's more than likely your own fault. These guys get my vote..and so does the beer they brew here on-site that has proved so popular that they can't meet the demand from many other London pubs...
